Bet the broadcasters were hoping he wouldn't win. It must be on the back of their minds not to mispronounce his name.
A) I wonder who will be first?
B) I wonder what his nickname was at school?
C) Olympics ... 6 years ago? TVNZ commentator at the rowing referred to the 'Men's Cockless Four' (Not really relevant but on the same scale)

Someone else, apparently in an Olympics was asked who some marathon competitor was, unaware the mic was on said "f'tifino" (say it out loud) and spent the rest of the event referring to Mr Tifino to cover up.
But, with regard to Cunliffe, taggers will have a field day with election billboards.

Like most '' socialist'' politicians spouting equality he is a total hypocrite. He lives in one of the 'better'' areas of Auckland and enjoys a very comfortable income.
And to balance this all out Im not so comfortable that our priminister made his millions from what comes down to tin tacks as speculation. Id have far more respect for anyone making money to have actually done something useful and actually productive.
Wouldn't it be great to have some politicians that are actually real people concerned with an economy based on productivity. That's how the money supply should be based.

Yes but weirdly no politician can open that discussion because they immediately get shouted down. We live in a strange place where business is viewed with vague contempt and no thought is given as to where jobs come from in the first place. Without the private sector economy there would be no tax for any government to redistribute.
Actually David Shearer recognised this and was trying to make Labour sympathetic to small business (which can grow into large business) but we know what happened to him. Sad.

Vague contempt? It's a fucking full blown phobia mate. But then, how many have actually been on "that side"?
If every citizen had to spend 2 years being responsible for his own income we'd see that attitude become a bit more balanced.

You and Winston have hit the nail on the head big time, but that attitude extends beyond politicians.
It was a shame about David Shearer ( even though Id never vote Labour ). Too sincere for a politician. Cunliffe in comparison is a clearly nasty and scheming piece of work

I'd be tempted to call him Damien.

He is my local MP. You know when you just look at someone (not knowing who they are) and get a feeling that something is wrong. Well that is him.

Say what? Bloke says words to the effect of "walk a mile in my shoes..." and it's an entitlement complex now?
Sometimes you're intelligent and perceptive. Sometime you're a muppet, this is one of those times.

Yup, an entitlement complex. All I heard was, I've done the hard yards, therefore if no one else has done the hard yards, they don't have a fuckin clue... in fact the below answer is testimony to that fact.

I don't own a business, therefore I have no fuckin idea? Really? People have to fight different battles throughout their life for one reason or another, some to fend off death, and yet the don't have a fuckin clue? Awesome tood dood. You should run for office.
