hello there, ive just joined the site today.
I have owned gsx 400x impulse for few months now.. only rode it once with a lot of problems.. was wondering if there was anybody on here with experience with these old bikes I am very keen to restore this bike to its former glory.

I used to own an Impulse back in the late 80's. Loved the bike, was pretty quick for the time.

It did have a lot of electrical problems though. They are known to have a dodgy regulator/rectifier. Mine was replaced and sorted some of the issues, but I did have another problem where it would cut out at lower revs. I had to keep revving the shit out of it at the lights to stop it from stalling.

This problem was intermittent and the bike shop was never able to pin point the problem, which is why I ultimately sold it.

I'd imagine parts for these would be pretty hard to find these days.

Welcome.
Had a mid 80,s one and it was a cool little bike. Was fairly new though, so never had an issue with it. Was ridden mostly along rough gravel roads too. :2thumbsup
