Just reqd the article and this sort of shit pisses me off. Need to find the scum sucking bottom dweller and pull their fingernails out slowly and painfully while breaking their arms and legs! Same sort of assholes who steal from ambos and fireys while they are working. Just the lowest of the low

The police are moistening their bus tickets as we speak!
Justice shall be served!
But wait. Was the female doing more than 4km over??
Well, its all her fault! Give HER some justice!

The Courts will dish out some serious community service for that.
Bring back Stocks in the town centre, I'd even go to Countdown and get some tomatoes.

Oh, just fuck off with the anti police shit for once. Use that one brain cell you have and consider the wee fact that police only CATCH the criminals. Limp wristed judges are the ones waving the bus tickets.
I think you'd find many motor cycle riding police who would love to see REAL punishment dished out to oxygen thieves like this.

but not the cage driving police, eh? They would not love to see real punishment, eh?
How well has that punishment system worked for y'all, anyway? Crime must be about gone, cos everyones scared of the punishment, right?

That's just downright low of the scumbag who took the bike... :bash: String him up by the balls!
Honestly, when is this country going to stop handholding and cuddling crims? Rehabilitation, yes okay... But tough laws first, then we worry about Timmy's bad upbringing!

The problem is that it costs more to lock people up than it does to dish out an ineffective fine that won't be paid or put them on home detention to play xbox all day and make their parents/partner do all their work for them.
Yes ,we could make prison a really harsh cheap place like in Thailand or Indonesia, but it looks to me the harsher the prison environment the less socialised people are when they come out. In effect you make the problem worse - they either get socialised to the prison environemt (so don't fear going back), or are so brutalised they just don't fear anything (which is IMHO the cause of some of our violent crime already - being brutalised in the family environment).

Guess the witnesses/helpers were helping the victim, not babysitting the bike. I've had some offs, and the bike has been put on the side of the road with the keys still in it cos I'm considered more important to look after. But fecken hell, you don't expect the bloody bike to go missing in that short time before the Police get there. I hope the feckin low life gets caught, named and shamed.

Why don't we send school kids to visit a prison that looks like one of those from Thailand or Indonesia and make them think that's what they'll get if they break the law? Right now they know that prison or home detention is a joke. Traumatise/intimidate those young hearts and minds before they turn hard core?
As for being brutalised in the family environment, those who are doing the brutalising should be the ones populating this 'showcase' prison...
What were those blind fuck witnesses at the crash scene standing around and doing?
I was just saying to a fellow rider colleague that if any there were riders, they'd know to move the bike to a safe location and remove the key, as well as care for the fallen rider. Other motorists would only be concerned about the victim...
Was surprised how the bike could still be ridden away... No broken levers or pedals?

For those of you on facebook the Avondale Neighbourhood Policing Unit has published the details along with a photo of the bike.
https://www.facebook.com/AvondaleNPT?fref=ts
If you are not then here it is:
We are equally appalled at the behaviour of some people...how low can one go?? Thanks for the feedback asking for the registration number. It is 36ZTH - it's coloured black and silver, and will have crash damage. If you see it being ridden around, call 111 straight away, or if you have information on where it is, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

I would expect that it was nicked by someone with a trailer. After a crash, what happens to the bike? It goes away on a trailer, and that's probably why no one noticed... and you'd have to be pretty dumb to ride around on a bike that's just been crashed... potentially bent forks, handlebars, levers etc... So I would say it's in someone's garage being broken down for parts by now. Anyway, it's horrible that someone would take advantage of a situation like that. Hope someone steals something of theirs the next time they're vulnerable...

So we just let them continue their life of crime, making life hell for all their victims? The real answer is to punish repeat offenders severely enough that they no longer want to offend. Otherwise, some mob justice would work nicely.

No it wouldn't Akzle, least not in the short term.
Butt, in the long run it would because there are still more honest law abiding citizens out there than criminally inclined arseholes and if we did start making sure we took them out of the gene pool as we found them, those left would quickly adapt or simply be removed as they came up.Problem solved.
Having said that, try getting all of the different groups out there to agree that this sort of action needs to be taken and suddenly there'd have to be special pardons for poor downtrodden, badly raised, family violated knuckle draggers who deserve another chance?????? because!
I'm all for an eye for an eye and for one law for all.
Simple really.

Hell no. I'm just saying I don't know what the bigger solution is. Have a look at those countries with super harsh punishments - are they crime free? Would you want to live in Saudi Arabia? How about Singapore? You know what they do to weed smokers there? I can think of at least 3 crimes you have admitted to on this website - be careful how loud you yell for the harshest punishments.

A good idea, butt again, where do we draw the line, many bikers attend many charity events and lots of their money goes to kids, cancer victims etc etc, if we here in KB took it upon our collective selves to monetarily help all who find themselves in this situation then the crims would simply do their thing more often, same as, "insured cuz?, yeah!, good"

No, those countries are certainly not crime free, but I'm sure that people there think twice before stealing shit or beating up someone for fun. There's a bit of a difference between smoking buds and stealing a vehicle, burgling a house or assaulting people. When I go out and have my fun, I don't vandalize public or private property, I don't steal, I don't hurt anyone or put anyone else in unnecessary danger. No one or their property is getting harmed. I leave others alone, and hope they do the same. If there's no victim or significant risk for there to be a victim (like driving pissed even if you don't crash), then where's the crime? We live in a country where we turn ordinary people into criminals, while the real criminals are often set free or given a pathetically weak punishment relative to their crime(s).

Yes, not many "of us" would, we'd have avoided the damned cage driver.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to always put my hand in my pocket and give some fiscal help to a biker who had/has been ripped off or otherwise badly treated by the criminal fraternity, but as i said before.
It happens too often now and if the crims knew we were a soft touch for vulnerable other bikers, they would do it more often to them and we'd be shelling out more often. better to shoot the fuckers as we find em and make damn sure they can't do it again.
You coming Sunday? and next week in the Tron??

who are you to judge??. Im more competent high or drunk than 60% of the vehicles i encounter on the road. That goes up to about 94% in auckland.

Agreed
There is seriously something wrong with the moral compass of the shit that stole the bike. Why ( is the question I would be asking , either a complete nut job , or just doesnt give a fk ( which is the worry )
So why does it ( because it aint human ) not give a fk , ?
England used to hang every one for anything , even a woman with a baby ( mary watson ?) and the crime didnt decrease rather they found that it was the chance of being caught that the crime was perpertrated in the first place
If you hear of governments wailing on about tougher sentencing , remember they are trying to save? money by privatising prisons ( not sure if its to save money or just an Ideal or what ever)
Solve the cause not fix the result IMHO
