Hi all, found an interesting routing of breather hoses after first ride on "new" KDX. Emulsification in the oil sight-glass, and a gentle bubble of oil out of the gasket at the back of the cases on the rhs. Pondered for a bit, then traced the gearbox breather hose to the top of the coolant expansion bottle...

I figured this was wrong, so have now run both to atmosphere under the engine - and changed the oil. A look at one other bike showed me that my original routing was wrong, but I'm just checking that my new routing is right. My memory's not good enough to remember what the other bike looked like apart from "not like mine".

Cheers,

Cheers,

your new routeing is correct, the crankcase breather normally just goes out by the linkage, and the water bottle overflow down by the frame near the front,

Thank you Scott. Always nice to find a new-bike flaw that isn't terminal!

Of course, I have no idea how long it was like that...

It should run up past the carb on the rhs then over the shock and into the air box. Stock routing on my H.
