View Full Version : the BIG HUGE MASSIVE Weekender!!!

After thinking this over i'll plan it better for later in the year, with a proper BBQ and organised rides.

However i will still do:
Friday 23rd is PUKEKOHE RACEWAY OPEN DAY - $90 or free to watch
- either way i suggest coming to watch, i have had a blast both just being there and also going out on the track. It's a lot different to road riding and you will learn heaps.

AND

Sunday 25th (Coromandel ride)- Plan is to meet at Papakura Autobahn at 10am and leave by 10.30am

We will go Hunuas - Miranda - Kopu - Coromandel - Whitianga - Tairua - Kopu - HOME (either back through miranda - kaiaua - kawakawa - whitford OR Hunuas OR SH2 dependant on what people decide and what time it is)

Going to be a big day but it is hugely enjoyable.

North Shore crew, meet at 'the pad' (between holeshot and cyclespot) ready to leave at 9.30am

Safety will be a priority and you do everything at your own risk, [insert motoracers disclaimer thingy here] - basically just do it all at your own pace and dont ever go out with the idea that you have to impress anyone (unless its off your bike :devil2: )

Im hoping for a big turnout of 250 riders of all descriptions, the ride up to wellsford is a good warmup to a REALLY REALLY enjoyable day on coromandel - which i will probably do at about 85% as my rear tyre is getting a bit down the the good stuff.
This is open to all riders tho, lets see if we can bump the 52 bike record we have so far!

Friggen keen.... gym is sure going to be hard on sunday mornign though :( *whaaamp whuump wooooormp*

And i'll need to bring a pillow or some foam for my ass.... darn tiny 250 seats.

Looks expensive as well $90 for track and probably $50 fuel or more....

worth it though :)

Friday's out (fucken horses and money).

Sat looks good. Will see if I can rev up a few Whg Dudes and Dudettes.

KB BBQ:Punk: Bloody good idea. Over due. Now where can we find a sucker, arh humm, I mean cool Dude/ette that will let us drink piss and chase their cat at their place:devil2:

Sun would be good if I stay over in AK, and the hung-overs not to bad. Although I do find a good fang seems to deal to a hung-over (until it catchs up with me).

Gareth - we could still have the BBQ at your place...
By the time you get home from work just after 8pm, it will be in full swing..
Please check with your mummy and daddy first if its ok.

There is gravel out the front for Mr Skid... so he will be happy.
A nice driveway to practise burnouts on... So WT and LB will be happy.

Grass down the back for the others to do donuts on..

Yep perfect place...

So BBQ at Gareth_D's on the night...

13th September 2005, 13:16
Will have to see about my place for the bbq, my olds were a bit iffy last time i mentioned it. BUT i will ask!

Yeh, sorry about the shortish notice. I might just change it to BBQ and the Coro ride on Sunday... then do a BIG HUGE MASSIVE weekend properly in a while longer, i wasnt intending on it being a huge KB meetup like the KB BBQ or Waikato Rally, just a big weekend of bikie stuff :ride:

R6_kid
13th September 2005, 16:27
What do people think of a meetup at say Mission Bay or Browns Bay on the Saturday, just for a catch up and piss around. The BBQ's are there and we can play some ultimate-frizby or something like that?

Motoracer
13th September 2005, 16:45
I only have one more go on the bike left before it needs a rebuild so I'll save it for race day on the 2nd of Oct, even though I desperatly need the practice..

yeh sorry about that, for me personally i wont have enough cash to do it all anyway if i kept the original plan.

Like i said i will plan something for a bit further down the line with a few good activities over a weekend and include a proper KB party/bbq in with it.

the meeting place is a fuel station, so when you rock in with everyone, just head straight to the pumps and sort yourself out. Don't have to worry about getting fuel before you meet up etc, you've got half an hour before we leave (assuming you get there at 10), so that's plenty of time to sort yourself out

It was a big one! 38 bikes left Papakura and headed south to Kopu.

I left the guys in Kopu - they headed north toward Coromandel and I headed back home via Kaiaua. I had a sweet run home up the coast - felt a bit sorry for the rider getting the ticket from the cop with his lights on just south of Miranda though...

Last heard from, the XT boys had headed off road and lost the main group.

was all good.. Nice ride out. No rain, no baking sun.. just high cloud and a gentle breeze. Stopped in Coromandle town for lunch, then WLT and myself had to be back in dorkland for 3ish, so we headed back with another riding (victoria, who for a newbie was doing really well), stopped again at Kopu (saw n said hi to the Litre boys who had just finished the loop themselves) where WLT had to scoot the quickest way back, and V and I went back via Kawakawakawakawakawakawasaki bay (seeing the guys on the other 'auckland cruise' that WayLander arranged), then around Maraetai, my exhaust can almost fell off from a broken weld on the hanger. So cruised back to Howick, and got hooooooome.. buzzy ride, and fun!

thanks for arranging it Gareth.. nice to see some ol' faces I haven't seen for a while too

And of course the 'team milf racer' gareth_d and the 'independant racer' tristank managed to keep the bigger bikes honest again
We ahh.. don't compensate for anything

The rain got me a little worried but it stayed away. As BJ said it kept it not to hot but not too cool.

The yellow gixxer 1k crew were fucking confusing... who is who. Only thing I could realise was SPB having no stickers on the back - not that you notice when they rapidly disappear under power on a long sweeper :oi-grr:

Some bumpier parts of the road were interesting - heard various conversations about how the arse's came out a few times... good to hear it was happening to everyone so I can't blame the tyres :P

Nice to meet some fresh faces - liam (doing friggen well for a 5 day newb O_o), teflon, one of the red/white cbr250's (whatsa your name again?), I think sazLEX (white vfr400..?) and a few others I can't quite remember.

My can of beans helped great on the straights, mr SPB aka beanman :)

p.s. gareth - soft tyres are for pussies :finger:

Departing from here soon (7am'ish). See you guys at Cyclespot. 8:30pm: 1/2 a GC later (500miles or 800Km) I'm home again. Someone must have opened a can of "Whip Arse", cause my butt has that nice after glow feeling of being caned (nothing major, only 1 stroke).

Bloody awesome day. See what Huey will do for you if you stop calling him a girl:rolleyes:
Great riding with you all. Hope "Roxanne's" phat arse didn't get in too many riders' way.

Think I saw a bunch of you guys headed down the motorway as I was headed up after picking my pillion up from Papakura.

Biggest cruiser turnout I'de seen yet for a KB ride. Glad y'all had a wicked ride.

Bugjuice, was it this one or blackyoshie's ride that you were with before we saw you in Kaiua?

The cruisers weren't with us. They were far too cool :weird: to hang out with us. They were just meeting in the same place as us. Besides which they probably couldn't keep up with the 250 crew that were with us, some of them were fast fuckers, Im sure they took a wrong turn off the back straight of Puke and somehow ended up in out midst. Great fun.
