A few years back the old front-loader washing machine played up, I found a brilliant website out of the UK which covered whiteware troubles and issues... can't find it again, OK haven't looked too far, but might be worth a question of Mrs Google.

Yep we've got one at work that did the same.
It has a fancy cutoff valve that won't let machine fill if it can't get a signal back from float in the waste outlet, meant to stop water continually pumping in when outlet blocked.
Service guy came in and bounced float(moveable dome in bottom of washer) which has it going now but said that the sensor will need to be replaced if plays up again.
Not a biggie so prob worth having a look or getting tech out.

Faulty inlet valve. Dishwasher wont advance until the pressure switch has indicated correct water level then water reaches temperature followed by a preset time washing at said temperature depending on the cycle chosen.
Inlet valves easy to replace. 2 wires and a hose clamp. Normally about $40 for the part.
Also check that you haven't got a blocked filter at the tap end of the inlet hose or the inlet valve itself before buying a new valve.

Some have fat legs. Some have thin legs. Personally I prefer somewhere inbetween.

update the repair was going to be $750 not worth spending that on a 13 year old machine (thought it was only 7 years where did that time go) so bought a new top hole Bosch at hardley Normals for $1650 on sale last one didnt miss a beat until it died so if i get another 13 years out of this one i will be happy

I have a dishwasher, it's that box under the sink the flatmates store dirty dishes. Faster and much better job just washing and drying, especially when the flatties still put cups in up the wrong way, and presume the dish washer is magical and put pots over utensils to block the water..... I've unplugged it from behind and told the flatmates it's broken... Suckers.

Worked with a guy that was tad lazy cleaning up in our communal kitchen and overnight premises. Went to cook my lunch and the fry pan is there with half an inch of cold mutton fat congealed in it and sink full of dishes.
It wasn't the first time and I'd bought my own electric frypan that morning for $20 at the 24hr countdown.
So I grabbed all his dirty shit and the plug cord put it all in a bag and jammed it inside the pan and put lid on.... then cooked my dinner on new pan and own cutlery.
Well you should have heard him nut off couple hours later.... I think after 20mins it sunk in that it was his own mess.....

Top Tip: Don't use expensive "branded" rinse aid.
Buy a bottle of cheap, clear vinegar and use that instead.
Super clean glassware.
Seriously, give it a try.

Our "throw-away" society extends to the major appliances now - it's just not economically viable to fix them.

Our F&P dishdrawer is now a combined rubbish receptacle and mouse catcher. Rat/mouse chewed through the water pipe five or so years ago and it was going to be a ridiculous amount to fix it so we didn't bother. It was the wife's btw, dishwashers are the ultimate in equipment for completely lazy fucks.

I am the dishwasher since the kids moved out, should not have got myself fixed after the last child arrived.
Then maybe I wouldn't be doing dishes now, Real bright move that was.:weird:
