Frame sliders?

Hi all,

What are your recommendations for frame sliders for a Yamaha R6 2005 model?

Or something good in NZ?

Prefer something so no fairing is cut

I thoroughly recommend LSL sliders. Look good and wear better - shape helps with sliding.

Can get them through momomummy, but probably other places too.

I've had a slide on those LSL sliders and they really did the job. It was low-speed, low-side though. I have read that shaped sliders help to stop the bike from potentially spinning while it's on the ground, unlike the circular (tube) sliders.

I've used Norm for a couple of little bits and pieces and he was great - good communication, swift response and fair price. Couldn't comment on those sliders though.

So I've been doing a bit of reading on frame sliders and Woodcraft really stands out.
Mixed reviews about no-cut ones like shogun etc. Some say they did the job, others said they bent and did more harm than good.

With woodcraft, only drawback is that I don't really want to cut my fairings. It shows that you need to cut the R6 ones quite a bit for the 2005. I will make a rough job of it I know it. Can anyone on here in Auckland help me if I get them? Can pay cash or beers or whatever :)

Thanks for that. I am mainly looking for some that will save my bike if I drop it in the garage or low speed <50kph drop. I don't plan on saving my bike if it crashes at a faster speed because to be fair other stuff will be wrecked anyway!

So much conflicting info about the Shogun sliders. Some guy had them save his bike 3 times! Others ruined in 1 crash. It'll be for road use not track.

Anyone tested no-cut sliders? How did the brackets hold up?

I had the NZ F1E sliders on my GSXR. Well engineered, never tested!
On my current GSXR I have the Woodcraft sliders fitted. Cutting the fairing was harder to think about than to do! I would trust them not to bend the frame in a crash. That cheap shogun stuff, no thanks.....
