What an amazing ride by Sloan Frost this afternoon. 2nd, after crashing and remounting! The marshall in the photo is picking up a piece from Sloan's bike - off the racing line.

I will be uploading more photos.

Um, I hope not.
You aren't allowed to do that now.... It could have been off Jadens bike.

Hmm... I never recall it being an issue in the past. It could easily have come off another machine. In any case, it was a fantastic ride by Sloan.

I did not see what happened to Jaden. It would have been great to watch him and Sloan dicing to the end of the race.

Yup, it is against the rules.
They put in an amendment fir the South Island round to allow riders to carry out their own machine checks and carry on.
Sadly somebody took the piss and rode around with a cracked helmet! Among other damage that put everybody in danger!

So they have retracted the ruling and now your bike must be inspected by a machine checker after any incident that involves the handle bard touching the ground.

So, I would say it is off Jadens bike. Sloan only run wide off the track from what I could make out from the footage I saw.

He turned in a little earlier to T2 than normal to protect the line.
Hit a bump that is in there that made him loose the front.... Doesn't help when you have less ground clearance due to full fuel load....
Bike went down, Sloan avoided him.

Yup, gutting as in January Jaden would be allowed to continue.
Sloan rode the wheels off afterwards to get back up there! Lap Record pace even.

Exciting even though there were only 6 bikes!

Thank you very much for that clarification. Sorry, the commentator was not very clear on this so as I saw Sloan at the back of the field, and riding hard, I thought he must have crashed, as well, and he certainly was moving very quickly through the field from the back. Awesome to watch. It was the ride of the day IMHO.

No worries...
Yeah, Spyda missed it all as he was watching the guys at the front... To be fair who wouldn't focus on Scotty, Nick and Linden.
Thankfully from what we could see at home on the timing screen and video feed from CTAS it was clear to see that Sloan was on a charge.

I agree, ride of the day.

Do you mean T5? I was at Turn 2 and Jaden didn't fall of there. Scotty Moir ran on there later in the race and toppled over in the sand trap by the tyre wall.

Sloan's front mudguard shattered part way around turn 2 on lap 2 in front of where I was watching. Most of which was sitting off line. Was an inspired ride and proof of whatcan happen if you keep pushing and don't give up until the flag is waving.

I Stand Corrected.
Yes, it would be T5 for Jaden.... My mind played tricks on me.

Hmmm, so it was Sloans mudgard... interesting.

Yes, Never Give Up!

One of my shots shows the piece in the air at turn 2.

PA was a bit patchy where I was but I thought I heard Choppa say he rode over Jaden's bike as he could not avoid it. I suppose luck he has a dirt background, Lol!

I bet that mudguard must have been banging the bottom of the fairing hard, if that was the case....

I just looked at his lap times and that lap was a 1.14 vs the 1.04's and high 3's that he pumped out. So rough estimate, lost 10 seconds in the melee.
