Hi Guys,
I’m a bit of a newbie to this whole DIY motorbike thing, but know a little bit to pull a bike apart and put it back together with a few complications along the way.
So anyway I bought some new indicators and taillight as I didn’t like the setup the previous owner had prior to me owning it (should have left the thing alone, but was too curious). I started to dismantle the back end taking out the wiring running to fuse box and everything surrounding it to relocate wires etc, I took other parts out to familiarise myself with the bike.
I installed the indicators and taillight, touched wires to solenoid, fried a 25amp fuse, replaced with 30amp fuse. Everything turned on and it’s all back together to only find out that it doesn’t start just made a clicking sound when I started it with the electric start (no kick start). Jumped started the bike with the mate’s car, it turned over without a problem but only with the choke fully out , I thought I’d go for a ride to give the battery some charge. Came home, parked it, and turned it all off thinking the bike was sweet as a nut. Next day tried to start the bike and didn’t turn over went back to clicking sound. I charged the battery, reconditioned the battery nothing happened, decided to run a volt meter to the battery and saw it was on its way out giving me the reading’s off 10.29v, when under pressure of igniting dropped to 5.03v. So I bought a new battery, (didn’t charge it) still doesn’t click over. Jumped it with mates car, clicked over, let it run, jumped on to go for a ride, engaged 1st gear and died, kept trying to start it by itself would take ages to start all with the choke fully out, and it would start but then die off slowly. Started it with throttle fully in and let a massive back fire off. Pulled the pin and left it alone.
Sorry about the novel, and hope it gives you an understanding of where I’m at.
Do you guys have any idea of what this could be?
Fuel mixture, Electric, Internal, attitude problems.
Any help will be much appreciated.
