Hi all.
Recent rider here (3 months or so). Got an Aprilia ETX 150 which I am fond of but am starting to feel its limits - especially when buttoning off where the engine braking is significant.
I understand this to be partially due to airflow backpressure so was keen to hear some thoughts and opinions. Would an exhaust upgrade be worth the time and money? Or would I be over-capitalising on a beginner's machine?
(Would be nice to make it sound a little less like a sewing machine too)
Your expertise is greatly appreciated!!

Don't spend money on it. Save money to put towards a better bike for the future.

It's a 150. Save the money for a bigger bike. Any money you spend on it will be money down the drain, and it won't improve the bike as much as you would like to think.

Didn't quite understand what you mean. Is your engine breaking too hard and slowing you or are you finding its not enough? There's a chap round Huntley who runs a motorcycle wreckers (bike bitz I think it's called) and is usually happy to let them go for around $60 but it's usually quite hard to find one which isn't scraped up from a crash.

The good thing about 'zorsts is if one side is scratched up, it's a cylinder.... rotate it so you see the clean side. Only the nosey will see the scratched
side.

Thanks for the responses all. I'll stick to stock for this machine and spend the $$ on bike two!

spend some money on a trackday.
if you still feel like you can ride it to its limits, its time to start saving for something else that gives you a hard on.

WTF - no one told you to buy a Bussa yet? This is the start of the demise of KB.
