we get that here regularly, people crossing railway tracks who simply can't see a 90 tonne unit, on the tracks it's supposed to be, and unable to veer even an inch, yet people still get hit by them

Lights on, nobody home.
If the tank was hi viz orange the accident would not have happened.
Just sayin.

The really scary bit is the chick driving the car will be over here driving a hi ace next summer.

The thing that got me was "British and Nato forces are stationed at a base near to the road - the name of which translates to "Tank Ring Road" - in the Lippe district of Germany." .... errr,.. she was driving where tanks normally drive... It's like saying,..lets go for a drive to Afghanistan and complain about the car getting blown up by an IED...

I know right?? There should be like a light on the dashboard or something to warn you?

Trees down both sides of the road, 62 ton tank painted in camouflarge colours, Quite understandable I'd say.

There is...the low level tank light means "there is a low level tank following you !!"

Would be the same psyc thing as the reason people miss bikes I'd imagine yeah? Brain doesn't expect to see it so it's automatically ignored.

Still, bigger than a gorilla...

Yeah, that "invisible" gorilla experiment was very interesting.

Not unheard of... I recall a woman turning in front of a NZLAV near Linton Army Camp a few years back (near Massey University) ...I don't think that ended well either.:(

But it's worse than that...
"The 18-year-old reportedly pulled in front of a convoy of British military vehicles, which she overlooked, leaving the solider at the controls unable to avoid her." :brick:
