I went up to unitec with my camera to find out. it doesnt look that low although it feels it.

so you think I can get much lower than this? I did hit my toe on the ground on at the end.

Depends greatly on your tyres and also how warm they are. I did not get my knee down on puke on friday but in saying that I got fucken low and I was pushing the little bike too its limits. My toe slider scraped 6 times on the hairpin though.

not to be rude, but your just going in a circle, you COULD go much much lower if you were going faster trying to gain max lean doing the circle method only works if your going fast do it on road ringing the nuts out of it in 6th then you will see how low you can go, make sure you use a corner you know well.

Yeah second that... tamaki uni carpark is good as it has like a sorta course set out on it :P I might go there now.

You don't get much lower than scraping pegs and an arsing out rear on a zxr. Well with my tyres anyway :/

Try figure of 8's, you'll get less dizzy!

I'd be a bit more wary of the white lines, even if it's dry they haven't got as much grip as tarseal/asphalt.

Did you have your toes on the pegs, or were the pegs under the middle of your foot? If you keep the toes of your inside foot on the peg, rather than having the middle of your foot on the peg, you'll have to lean over further before scraping them.

Try shifting your weight a bit more, try hanging off the bike into the turn. Or try the opposite, try letting the bike lean over further and keeping yourself more upright (more useful for slow speed stuff) whilst supporting yourself on the pegs rather than sitting. The more you mess around and try different stuff, the more familiar you'll get with your bike and its handling.

It might actually be easier to lean over further on a decent corner than doing circles in a carpark, I reckon.

funny how time change aye. Years ago the sighn of a good /fast rider was tyres scuffed to the edge with no chicken strips, boot toe tips ground away and pegs shortened by constant grinding on the ground.

so that answers my other question. if peg hits the ground. it doesnt make the bike throw a wobbly just wears it down.

and btw guys yeah my foot was on the middle of the peg tucked in (not wangling out there)

codecs crashe. codecs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_codec

they are like drivers but for files instead of peices of hardware. different people prefer different codec's, Two Smoker is using a MJPG codec (Motion JPEG including Huffman Tables) which you probably got when you installed that defilerpak thing I got you to install, although I could be wrong it could be a much simpler codec than that. I like divx because you can get a large about of video into a small space with little quality loss and I can control the amount of compression quite easily.
Also divx is one of the more common codecs about so _most_ people who download video should already have it downloaded.

Ok now that thats done.

Nice Video 2 Smoker thats pretty low. Ill have to find a corner to practice on methinks.

Good on ya NC...feels good the first few times don't it...I remember way back when I first got a touch down...gave me a fright at first...after a few more times felt natural....
After a while you'll probally get a toe slider down...now thats a feeling....you know then your bike hasn't got much more lean in it...or go buy rearsets!!!!

Which reminds me...need some more sliders for leathers....!!

Do you ide the taka's much NC?

Here a quere for you: I've scraged the foot peg on "Roxanne" at Ruapuna. Even shat myself one time when the brake peg bit (ride the back brake on a tight right hander and bottomed-out:stupid: ). But I have not yet touched me knee sliders on the ground:scratch: There are times that I think that I am more likely to need an arse slider or elbow slider than a knee one:scratch: (that's just me hanging off the side, not because I am leaning "Roxanne that low).

Be the way, I find scaping the toe no big deal now if you don't move your feet back. So more often now have the inside foot with only the toe on the inside peg (the old time I'm not riding like a Nana's Old Grandpa:o ).

I've had boot and peg scrapeage and I'm really surprised how upright I still was, suppose the gnu's no mean cornering machine though. Gets all funky and pogo's on the exit. Probably my fault. (Hopes a track session and some critics teach him good).

Yeah I have got my toesliders down for a while, used to happen more when I kept ball of my feet on the pegs, then I shifted recently to having the flat of the foot on the pegs and I'm scraping the peg more often... toe sliders have rubbed heaps off so now they only touch just before the peg does :|

Managed to get my knee down in cordura a few times in a carpark before the big massive weekender. Sorta fucked my cordura (burnt through the kevlar in big holes) so I'll be in to get some velcro strips and kneesliders at Mt Eden soon.

Stupid me eh...

the road is the infamous Old North Road heading from SH16 to Kaukopakopa. That corner is one of two. There the right hander we see there, then over a crest and slight left, then into a 90° lefter. Both corners I have tried to be getting my knee down for a while on. And still no cigar. Not that I smoke, so that's ok. But they're good corners anyway. You can see across the corner for traffic, the tarmac is that sexy smooth stuff, and the run off is far from rewarding.
