Helloooooooooo!

The day has finally arrived to become completely broke off my face.
[heavy breathing]

HELLO... again xD

My names Steph (go figure) and FINALLY got/ getting my first bicycle with an engine!!
it's an 88 CBR250 which i'm paying off from a friend (perhaps he's on this forum?) which i'm hellishly excited to own!

Admittedly right now I don't have my learners, just nailing through the gear first. Assuming all goes swell I should have the learners by end of next month? or is that too optimistic?

Will need to get the riders test done and dusted too (any suggestions on where best to go?)
Yea... perhaps all that done by end of next month is too optimistic. LOL
the 4 to 2 wheels thing... not RRREEEAAALLLLLLYY accurate, as I have daily-turned weekender car, and a project racecar. oh the financial struggle is real.
Bike will be the daily commuter though, so KINDA accurate, but not really :P

anyways, cant wait to meet all of yah, and being a complete noob I certainly appreciate all the advice :)

Depends what the waiting list is like for an instructor to do your basic handling skills. Was only a day or two's wait for me and I got it after a couple of lessons. So end of next week would be achievable here. Auckland mileage may vary.

Oh and welcome

Yea managed to book the handling test for the 6th next month. Just gotta read up on that roadcode and the license should be easy.
Though Christmas time.... A lot of people will be riding D:

apparently VTNZ do theory tests? suppose they'd get a lot less foot traffic for those as opposed to the AA.

That they do, did my theory at vtnz sylvia Park. Literally walked in, sat license, walked out. Done and dusted in less than 30 mins, no pre booking required

Re-read what you wrote... Are you sure you want to advertise that you're an easy ride?

Haha, first no pants, now this. You'll be good for a laugh.

When Akzle private messages you asking for boob pics don't get worried, he does that to everyone (even goats).

Edit: reading back through the thread, hes already asked for boob pics. Sorry Akzle, I should know you're faster than that.

As said in the other thread, I do before I think (and yea, I guess even that could be taken out of context)
Hey! if making myself look like an arse means getting along with people, then so be it! I'm usually the designated "point and laugh" figure of any group anyway :P
Easy ride as in go for a cruise that's ea...... we both know you know what I mean

Wondered if the boob pic thing was a trademark thing he did. thankies for the clarification!

I remember a few years back, lost a bet with some mates which resulted in me promising to go topless to the next car meet/cruise. The looks on their faces were priceless when I showed up, with my shirt on.
"Steph, you're supposed to be topless!"
HEH DIDN'T SPECIFY WHAT TOPS, LOSERS! *she says in car with t-tops removed*

Great success!

Well had my first "incident" with the police today!

Ran out of gas and they got me some more... LOL!!
Can confirm that 88 250r's do not like 91.

This bike thing... Despite being noob, goddamn its making me regret building that racecar.

Go and do some track days. You'll learn lots, have a great day and then sell the racecar :niceone:

The thing with motorbikes is you can ride a road going bike around the track and have more fun/go faster than most kiwis typical 'track racing' cars.

yea I can agree with that statement.
Though there is no question I will eventually take the bike to the racetrack, and ultimately have a lot more fun in it than I did say the Z32, or mx5, not to mention the cost of a bike would be significantly cheaper than a car (or at least I assume so)

How often are bike days held?

will still keep the little track toy. it's 99% ready, seems a waste to give up juuuuuuuuuust yet :P

Usually at least a couple a month. During summer, if you're prepared to head down to Taupo, you can ride pretty much every weekend.

If you're racing at Hampton Downs and Taupo there are, for example, 3 race meetings in February, 1 in March and 1 in April. But that doesn't take into account the track/test days.

taupo tracks niiiiiiiiiiiiice ^-^
might aim for feb/march... though might be too soon into riding? they do allow learners right? I had heard rumours that learner riders weren't permitted on the track.

Like other motorsports I guess - if you want to make a small fortune motorcycle racing, start with a large fortune

Best ever fun though!

This is what you want: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/176933-AMCC-Advanced-rider-training-day-for-Christmas!-19-December-2015

Plenty of learners get out in the slowest group (can never remember if that's 1 or 4). Being speed appropriate etc, it's definitely the safest way to get on the track.

Those rumours are all shit. There's a group to suit all abilities (except for GP racers, those bastards are too fast for the fastest race groups). Sign up for the slow group at a track day.
