Hmm,
Two things spring to mind,
Apple ph meets m/cycling
and "safety improvements" means cluttering the riders focal field.
yeah,nah
I'll stick with old style simplicity and curvy design lines thanks.

I'd go full electric before hybrid. But then I'd keep a hydrocarbon based bike for longer journeys.

Pisses me off how they render it black on black so you can't see f-all. But that is because there is f-all to see as it's some design kids fluff.
Solar is OK provided the sun is out. As a technology it is under used globally - all new homes in NZ should have to have water heated this way and there should be Govt assisted programs to get the rest of the houses done.

Unless there has been some new developments of significance, charging on the move would be token at best. You would however come back to a part charged bike should you leave it outside while you went to work if the weather was mediocre to good and the cells would be easily damaged by the sorts of things we expect our current ( no puy intended ) bodywork to tolerate.

Too much added weight for a bike if you go hybrid. Not worth it, and where would you take the power from? You don't really have the room to do regenerative braking at the wheel hubs/axles so you straight away have added drive losses there.

Yep. If I could buy a bike similar to the cb1300 or a dl1000 in body but with a full electric heart and range to go to work and back reliably daily I'd have one now.
Zero are an option if I could charge at work.

Its only ever going to be vaporware, it can have all power and range and unreasonably light weight it wants..... It seems the idea is a new safety system that uses lots of rear facing cameras. The ride might be a bit bumpy looks like rear suspension was forgotten though, conveniently eliminates any chain growth problems though.

Probably runs one of those sandpaper wheel friction drives like the old Solex .......

It looks like H.R. Giger designed it! Seriously, it looks like it came off the first Alien movie.

Just occured to me that 'an average concept' bike is a bit of an oxymoron. That's all. Nothing useful to contribute.

What I don't get is some of the vile car designs that have actually been manufactured. They must have come from a approved concept .........

Modern design and mode of power all coupled to a frigging dirty ole oily chain as final drive.......yep design top marks..................not.

never understand why some nice enclosed chain designs have never taken off.Would solve the dirt problems and prolly increase the life of a chain.esp tourers sport tourers and cruisers

Best guess? Because they look utilitarian. Utilitarian doesn't sell. Race styles do.
You're absolutely right about increasing service life, roller chain was always meant to be run in enclosed compartments and sprayed with oil. We're just lucky that it tolerates running out in the breeze as well as it does.
