Top right when you open, there is a cog, go to that then About Internet Explorer. Otherwise, if you have a toolbar along the top left, choose Help > About Internet Explorer.
Meh. Just because support ends doesn't mean it stops working, but then I'm trying to stop people using it anyway. Download Firefox or Chrome (yes, more techy peeps can use others).
Hell, we're still buying copies of Win7. Support ended last year ;)

Go to Google - type in 'Download Firefox' or 'Download Chrome'
Never use IE ever again.

You have two levels of "support" from Microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-nz/windows/lifecycle
I say "support" because I've only ever called about activation issues (some including brand new products) and they haven't even fixed them all. One call included telling me I had to order manufacturer discs for a 6 year old PC... hahahah
MS is pushing Win10 hard, including pestering Win7 users - which is sorta on my to-do list to figure out how to kill all the reminders, but MS is cunning and release new updates doing the same thing...

I still support an XP machine, it still runs fine chugging along no worries....
I would be still mucking about in Vista 64 if it wasn't for 1 program I use (they force you to upgrade)
I hope to never go through the nightmare that was Vista to 8.1 - MS not telling ya that you need to get product keys (for mostly MS products as they turn them off/hide them) then ask for the product keys (WTF????)
MS is getting really hard to even trying to get the auto update to install 10
I have installed this on 2 machines. From 7 and 1 that was supposed to be 10 (but supplier gave 8.1 saying that 10 was installed-buggers). Both took a while and required a few reboots etc but on the whole painless.
Just wish they hadn't altered the outlook format and colour scheme it's hard on my eyes.
On the 'web help' pages would be nice if I could just select a section of text/instructions and only print that part not the whole MS web page.
Myself just waiting for program supplier to confirm that W10 is certified for use then I will downgrade to 10 as I have only now really getting the hang of 8.1 after 12 months:facepalm:

What makes things even worse Windows doesn't work well with MS products either.

There are some which work almost seamlessly like OFFCAT, which look like internal development
apart from the strange colour combos worked a treat.:niceone:
Used it to check out problems I was having with MS OFFICE and MS OUTLOOK - the pst file was corrupted:no:
Regarding IE, I used to be a loyal user, as I wrongly assumed that MS would pile lots of work to get rid of any bugs etc.
LOL... Maybe that's why there is Edge development but I have recently changed to Chrome or Firefox on the odd Occassion. I now use IE as little as possible.
All of these 'security updates' makes me thing how much work is done on the programming for whatever action the program in question is supposed to do. Used to be 50% on program and 50% on user interface/printing etc.
So with W10 how much is done on the program and how much on security........

Don't worry, don't even need an OS in the mix. MS Dynamics CRM 3 never played that nice with Outlook 2003 and they were supposed to work together :pinch:
A project likely this year for one client is moving CRM off MS (although MS backend), upgrade the SBS2003 to 12 ish etc. We can't replace one without the other, so they have to be done together...
There are plenty of XP left in my networks, most have been migrated to Win7 and we're still deploying that. There are the occasional software that demand something newer, but it's more likely software is behind the 8 ball. Back then, I had to do a fair amount of testing to get that sort of software working on Win7/Office10 and some even said to me, it's untested, please let us know how you go as we haven't tried yet...
Nothing wrong with XP for basic functions but slowly companies will move to newer OS support and compatibility wise and don't want to keep supporting every OS. It doesn't mean that XP automatically blows up - although MS would like to make you think so...

Have to agree, Quite happy with XP, 2000 and Vista 64-never really had a problem with any of them- Still run XP and Vista machines (no where as many as Gremlin or Big Dog obviously). Win 7 and 8.1 can be interesting.
And yes finding most people now keeping it simple and not constantly updating to newer OSs and only upgrade when replacing a whole machine
Just glad MS isn't running the ECU, traction and ABS functions on bikes ..... Or are they????

Bahaha, good to know nothing has changed. MS weren't really considered for the next CRM... now we're waiting for approval on costs...

Got almost no Vista, we supplied one, and it's since been cycled out. The odd Win8 we didn't supply but have to support, the odd people took it upon themselves (sorta attached to companies, but not full time staff) and then we had to sort out the resulting mess. 3 staff decided to upgrade because MS said so  Deployed machines are all Win7 bar one client that must have the latest and greatest, so running a custom spec Win10 laptop with Office 2016 (the day after it was released).
I have replaced the hardware in rare occasions keeping the XP OS when clients have everthing setup the way they need it. It does mean a faster turn around to new hardware and no testing compatibility etc.
Maybe MS is. Everytime I start the BMW it sets Traction control and ABS to on, no matter the setting when I turned it off <_<

I like having the same setup - makes it so much easier for people like you and me.
BMW like other manufacturers have to reset the bike IN CASE another rider rides it. to protect themselves.
Pity it doesn't have a setup config were you could have your settings saved and reloaded with a push of 1 button on start up-sort of preconfig. (my explanation isn't too clear)

I upgraded the home PC to Windows 10. Funny thing with Edge though, I open some websites and they tell me my browser is out of date, I should update to IE11
