Aus Roads have just published an article on road design, based on safety data.

Recall an earlier thread where there was some discussion on road geometry and
design. But could not find either the thread or the forum after a quick search.

This article is a bit detailed, and I'm not sure whether anyone would find it of
interest or use. I post it anyway.

Hopefully the article is attached when I do this post.

Cheers

Note: Sorry. Initially uploaded wrong file. Then file upload of correct file failed
as it exceeded maximum allowable file size. It's not my day.

You sure you posted the right attachment? Seems to be a copy of the TPPA.

thats all good, NZTA idea of road safety is to put 70km/hr signs out after two deaths attributed to seriously tar bleed and rain in less than a month. cheaper than actually fixing the problem i guess.

so pretty much half the road between riverton and wallacetown is now down to 70 km/hr

After looking at Chapter 1 of that document I almost puked. What a load of fucking double-speak, cock-gobbling, PC wankfest!
Thank fuck it got flushed down the dunny.

Ah, I see that you've logged in to AusWatch and read (sorry, browsed) the document
referred to. And that your view on the document's readability and usefulness was on
par with mine (although I probably wouldn't have used quite the same words ..... 8-)

When I saw the title, I was hopeful that it might contain some good information, but
alas.....

Cheers
