I dunno....given the choice between the 500 Enfield I rode in india and my Darmah......um.......um......

the Enfield gearbox might just have had the edge.

I dunno....given the choice between the 500 Enfield I rode in india and my Darmah......um.......um......

the Enfield gearbox might just have had the edge.
Albion gearboxes rock , first gear will never split ,
If you can find it.
And oh the choice , pull up at the lights and at least 16 neutrals to choose from

You don't need to when your running four times the corner speed of the ducati. Also with being able to lay these smaller bikes right on their sides you effectively gear them down mid corner so better of staying gear higher than you think.
Even the humble DR650 eats dukes and other big bikes in corners, people keep thinking my chook chaser is hotted up... well it has a few mods but no serious horsepower gains......

With those gear boxes they often didn't like changing down so it was often easier to heel it into neutral and then go back up a click or two to the gear you wanted.

Even after all these years, and despite the fact that the gear levers on the other side, I still occasionally find myself instinctively lifting my heel put a bike into neutral.
