Hi guys. I'm building up an RF900R. I've got the wee girl in bits now as I'm getting her a complete paint job. Frame and all. I thought that I would treat her to a new set of mains and big ends as well as rings as she has 90000 MILES on her. I've already fitted a set of cams from a 93 GSXR 750 into her and man what a difference. She REALLY woke up but I've heard that a GSXR1100W crank assembly will bolt straight in. Can anyone verify this for me as I would really like some crazy man power Thanks guys.

To be fair there are likely many Suzuki sites that will answer that.

How much money do you want to put into it? My money would go into suspension. Mine had soft springs both ends and crude damping.

The other issue is those carbs wear horribly. You can tell if some plugs are darker than others.
At one stage mine fouled plugs and drunk gas.

Changing the worn emulsion tubes helps but the plastic inserts the throttle slides, erm, slide on, wear so the needles rattle the tubes oval again.

Maybe you could machine then and glue in new inserts, but you would have to be super confident you didn't introduce a reason for the slides to stick open.

The 1100w gearbox and clutch are quite different to the RF, so I dunno that th crank would mate to an RF clutch.

The GSX1100 stroke length is 60mm. The RF has a 56mm stroke.

Seems you can but you have to use the RF head and then deal with the compression being to high

But i am with dave the RF would benefit more from updated handling mods.

And aesthetics 'cause fuk it ain't pretty.

Hi guys as far as the suspension goes Ive got an R1 front end to go on. The GSXR1100 engine cost me $500 and yhe RF head will bolt straight on. As far as the carbs go I'll fuel inject it so that will solve that problem. I can get a set of throttle bodies fairly cheap and I've got a programmable ECU spare so that will solve that wee problem Thanks for the helpful tips. I'll keep you posted.
