whos planning to go? Its my first time. Im keen as :apumpin: , Im guessing they have bikes and cars seperate every open day?
After a little research, I came up with
1. bike in good nic - brakes etc
2. no loose/sharp bits
3. my cordura 2piece fine
4. turn up on the day with money and a life signing pen.
5. take mirrors off and tape speedo and lights (with duct tape?)
If its not too sunny I'll wear my clear visors so everyone can pin point the moment my sphincter goes innie. :sweatdrop

hey , yep bike should be in good nick!
your cordura is fine
yep turn up with cash! no eftpos there
some guys take off mirrors just so it stops you allways looking at them and not at the track ahead
what i would suggest taking is
plent of cash for fuel lunch etc,,,,
hat
drink
enjoy the day will be awesome!

Strat - if your mirrors can be turned/pushed inwards without having to take them off... then do that... it will save you the trouble of taking them off when you arrive at the track and putting them back on when its time to leave. Thats what a lot of the guys do with their mirrors.
Good luck on the track.

Pays to bring something to eat and drink. Also make sure your tank is full - you'll still probably need to shoot up the road to fill up again half way through the day.

Anyone wanting to come for a ride down with me, i'll be riding into Autobahn, Papakura at 11.00am for 15mins to gas up and meet any of you that turn up, then off down to the Drury turnoff and head up Runciman Rd to the track. :ride:
Attached are some pics from this & last years trackdays I've attended. Rep points for anyone who can first-time guess who the KBer is who ran off the track in pic 5 (sucker?), and who's the owner of the race Gixxer in pic 2??

Any predictions on turnout to this thing? I went to a weekend open day once, and it was full of muppets crashing in to each other in the hairpin. Not too keen on going if it's gonna be like that.

yep. He reckoned 57.6s on a full race machine, and 58.9s on a street GSXR round Puke IIRC.... Not much difference is there?? Makes you wonder why people bother to mod GSXRs if they are that good already.....

That straight coming down to the hairpin is scarey at times eh Al! :eek5:
Which non-Aucklander can name the KBer in the attached KB track day pic from last year. Dead easy if you've met him, so please no Aucklanders answer this.
And for more green bling who can name 3 KBers in the pic of the sad SP1?

How's next Sat for another loop ride??Yeah did the Loop 2 weeks ago with Viff, Blackbird, Bykey Cop, and Mac from the UK. Choice road, up there with the best for sure, such a variety of straights & twisties throughout!
Not sure at this stage about what next Saturday will bring...this weekend's riding hasn't even started yet! :niceone:

It needs a bit o work - but it handles a heck of a lot better than the old ZZR.

Anyone heard how Daryl (dss3) is? That was a nasty crash he had.
Pretty good day out there today. Quite a variety of machines and even a sidecar to make things interesting. There was only 3 sessions today which is a pity. Really need to have bike only track days.
