Few years ago did a kiwibiker Xmas ride ending up in around Blackball ish. The place was sort of a camp ground with huts. Some of these huts were weird in that there were leftovers from what seemed like every visitor since the 50's. Apparently hunters use them. There were more civilised ones. We had musket shooting as well.
Any ideas where this place might be.
Oh there was also an ancient Landrover with an ancient owner and I know someone who wants to renovate it, or at least give it a good home.

Kopara (?) Just up the road a bit from Gloriavale. I've only visited briefly but it looked like an interesting place.

Thats it. Thinks a heap. Worth a visit, if only to shoot a musket. Time warp from the 60's.

Sir Tim Wallaces family owned the mill and he grew up where the Christian community are now.

There is a hot spring nearby that most dont know about.

it is interesting though. Leaving aside the central lie at the centre of all religion which of course poisons the whole enterprise, the people are industrious and very hardworking and they have a lot of businesses and so forth. You do have to overlook a lot though if you want to join: like I say - the central lie, the misogyny, the child abuse, the control freakishness. My SO works with a refuguee from there.

They do have a lot of businesses with multiple million dollar turnovers but they also pay no tax yet still claim pensions and all the other tax payer funded benefits everyone else tax pays for. They also of course pay no wages

A couple of years ago it was released that they were getting 2.5 million dollars of tax payerr money just to fund the pre schools alone.
They used to pride themselves on not taking tax payer money now its all on pensions and everything its a rort.
