Things about this site that tick you off

Ok, we all have a great time on this site (right? or we wouldnt be here), and find it a valuable place to trade information and generally while away the hours when we should rightfully be earning our keep. However, there seems to be a few things that get peoples backs up on this site. I figured maybe we should clear the air and voice our opinions (go freedom of speach!), not intending this to be a slagging match, but I thought it might be interesting to see what people think (yes, we know spelling and gramma can upset some people . . . ).

So, I'll kick it off. I've got four to start with, all revolving around signatures.

1 - People with over 2mb of images in their signature. Ok, I'm on high speed, both at work and home, but I would hate to think what people on dial up have to wait for some pages to load. I know the images do get cached (if those on dialup can be bothered waiting for them to load in the first place), but part of good browsing practice includes clearing your cache from time to time. So the pics are pretty, but you do get bored of them after seeing them 5 times on one page!

2 - People with a million smilies in their sig. (IMO smilies are there to elaborate on a message, not distract you!)

3 - People with massive signatures. Again, read it once, dont need to read it five times on a page, plus when I'm reading something I like it as condensed as possible, rather than having to scroll down for page after page of things I'm not reading.

4 - People who steal your signature! Unless they had it first, in which case I shall shut up, and you can forget I ever mentioned number four. Was gonna change it anyway . . .

Ok, so there's my four. Again, this is just for curiosities sake, not suggesting for an instant that we start putting limitations on what you can and cant do on here, KB is a great place just the way it is - but I am interested to see what you all say.

For all the bitching (and there's not that much) there are 100 times more interesting, witty, intelligent people on here who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences. Altho many people probably do "talk like that in everyday life" doesn't make it necessary in this context. You have to at least think about what you are typing and can tone it down.

Mabey you just need to stop being so PC eh?

Don't forget bikes can't also be super duper considerate all the time as we need to have a policy of defense while riding. Eg pull over to the left for the whole ride and sit at 50 so people can pass on narrow roads or something - puts you in danger. Well that was a crap example anyway.

Huge sigs can get annoying, but just disable them then.
People raving on about their bike not working and posting 5 trillion times about it can get annoying as well.

Well...yeah...alright.....but nobody's said (at least I don't think they have) that the site sucks. At its best it's very funny and entertaining, and it's always a great source of information. I don't think mentioning that there might be ways it could be better amounts to any more than a bit of (what is mostly intended as) constructive criticism of what is in every other regard an excellent site. If I find I'm looking at a thread that I don't like, I don't persevere with it. Vote with my index finger on the mouse. No worries.
