Hi

I am wanting to purchase a 2000 Honda CR250 and was wondering if anyone knows the process of getting it registered or even if it is possible. I understand the main things it needs (headlight, tail light, speedo etc) but is their anything else to do with NZTA I should know of? Is it possible via alternative document forms?

Kind Regards.

Good luck. Not an easy job at all but it has been done years back.

A mate 18 months back got his KX500 on the road all legal, he wired up a headlight, braked tail light number plate light and indicators.

What process did he do for that? Did he use the alternative document forms? If so documents did he present?

what riding are you planning on doing? if its just like adventure rides that require a plated bike just fake it! (never get checked anyway...)

Supermoto would be the plan.

Pretty sure the frame dictates the eligibility to be made road legal. Pretty sure it's even a nightmare getting a CRF250X or 450X legal despite being wired up as is.

You cant do it legally you will need a statement of compliance to prove it meet the relevant build standards which it wont. Too hard basket Im affraid :shit:
