So, I've noticed that fuel has been leaking from the fuel tap, so I took the tank off and opened the fuel tap and it looks like the rubber seal inside has worn out.

Now the leak is continuous, with the fuel tap 'open' of course. What would you suggest? Purchase a new fuel tap for $250 NZD (incl postage) or look around for a used one? Also, is there any way to just buy that rubber seal as it does look worn - and when I push it from one side, it looks like it doesn't sit evenly - so I presume that this is where the fuel leaks from.

(p.s. I am no professional mechanic, just your average dude curious and willing to learn).

I've attached some photos so feel free to check and let me know what you think.

Appreciate the help.

Do an internet search for the IPB(Illustrated Parts Breakdown)for your make and model of motorcycle. Lookup the page for the tank/tap assy for your make and model of motorcycle. There you will find the part number for the diapram. Take the part no. to your local dealer agent and order a replacement one.

"R2" - a motorcycle parts supplier in Kumeu have replacement fuel taps that work on the MC22, I think price is about $60. Head into your local reputable workshop and see if they can order one for you. (R2 don't sell to the public, only through workshops)
