It has served me well as it did its first owner (Beemer). I now have my full license and need the money to help me buy bigger bike.

* Used a bike cover
* I have looked after it, only run it on fully synthetic oil
* Flushed the radiator and put in with good quality anticorrosive additive.
* I also changed the gearbox oil and put in clutch saver.

This bike was lowered by its first owner I believe both the suspension and the seat (By motorad)

It also has an extra box installed under the tank that makes you more visible by leaving both front indicators on all the time unless you’re actually using the indicators.

jimdaworm
20th October 2005, 21:27
30,000 thats what the 30k is in my title, I would have said it was in average condition but considering the condition of other RGs I have seen I would say its in good condition. I think it needs a new chain and sprockets though.

Thinkin of downgrading? :D

has it ever had a piston changed on it. i think they get due around the 30k
mark for a new piston and ring.

what kind of tyres to you run on it?

jimdaworm
21st October 2005, 22:17
Dunno about the piston but I would say its all ok. Just before I bought it about 3 months ago I had it checked over and they tested the compression and said it wasnt far off what they came out with.

I have a brigestone battleaxe on the front and I cant remember whats on the back.

Sorry I dont know much more about the history.

Nice looking bike, how much life has it got left in it?

Ixion
9th November 2005, 21:27
Heaps. Provided you ride it like a two smoker should be ridden. They're basically immortal just keep bunging new barrels on. Maybe $700 every 3 or 4 years depending on your mileage. Assuming, of course, you don't crash it.

Magua

Two strokes.....Immortal? Like the RGV250 two smoker was riding and the crank decieded to sieze?

Wellington is a bit of a way to go for a test ride. I'll see what I can find up this way. They sound pretty nifty for a 150.

I was actually being specific to the RG150. Some two smokers have issues, like RGV250 cranks ,VMX250 rear pistons, T500 gearboxes. RG150 but seems to be int the tradition of the older small Suzukis (S32 f'instance, they was indestructable) that just go on forever until someone crashes them.

* I also changed the gearbox oil and put in clutch saver.

What is a clutch saver?

Current wof and reg?

jimdaworm
10th November 2005, 06:22
Current WOF and REG, I think only a month or so left on the REG. Clutch saver is apparently really good quality gearbox oil.
I only used fully synthetic oil in it as from what I have heard its one of the cardinal rules of owning a 2 stroke if you dont want problems... and I havent had any!

I think it has plenty of life left in it.

I actually took it for a spin 2 days ago and I thought I am going to miss this:spudguita
The smell... and its sooo light and how the power comes on all at once all at once!

Its not perfect but I think its a pretty good example as far as they go.

Like I say anyone is welcome to come and check it out and take it for a spin. I need the money to buy a small car for my girlfriend to learn to drive in.

Don't do anything rash like sell the bike just yet. :nono:

I should be taking an rg150 for a spin on the weekend.

I beg to differ - while they are FLIPPEN AWESOME machines, RG150 was the 2nd bike i ever killed. At 24,000k's.
The motor is also a direct base of the RGV250 - well the ESRR is anyhow.
Did the bottom end bearing, piston, conrod, crank, gud pin, sleave, powervalves, head....... All when she went quiet.
However for genral purpose you should triple that k figure as i wreck things. So say good for 75,000k's.

I thought you test rode another one the other day? What did you think of it?

Magua
13th November 2005, 12:21
I test rode the Hamilton one, it has 17,000 more kms than Jindaworms. The Tauranga one needs work for a wof and high kms again. The other two are too far for me to go for a bike.

Pretty awesome little bikes, I don't know what you'll think of it coming from a CBR250.

I'm only looking for a race bike. Jindaworm's one is a bit flash and tidy than what I need it for. Although I'd like to get a courier job over the holidays so a road legal RG would be good
