4000cc aye, wow :)

They are four stroke but 1988 is getting on a bit. But it depends how much money/love the previous owner put into it.

gonna have to get an opinion from someone a bit less noobish than me.

I suppose this is it? Gorgeous bike.

yes 4 stroke and they are very reliable, even if they havnt had the best service record. i had one on the same year, red, white and blue which had done 50,000 miles and was cold seized when i bought it. i freed it up and it was fine, very light blue smoke on start up is normal. good bike but get a bit boring once youve got used to it especially if you try a mates 600 out. tyre choice can be a bit limited size wise. damn good bike though you wouldnt be dissapointed :niceone:

forgot to say the fairing panels are old now and tend to get vibration cracks in odd places, most things easy and cheap to replace, regulator/rectifier can be troublesome but not expensive.

I test rode one of those at the start of the year and it felt almost exactly like the CBR250 I'd been thrashing around on for a couple of years...except with a bit more obviously. Should be nice and bulletproof if it's anything similar to the 250 (which I think it is)

I have been doing it up and it is definately a gem to own. I will post link if anyone is keen to see the "refurbishing" pics I did on the bike. A very nice and comfortable bike to ride and much more docile than my other GSXR750. It has better grunt than a 250 and very smooth too. I have just ordered the missing mid panel from UK costing me a small fortune.

I have been doing a fair bit of research on this model of bike [NC23] on the internet and have heaps of information if anybody is interested - right down to finding a copy of the Haynes manual someone put up for download. However, I bought a real copy from TradeMe recently.

I have in excess both sides of the lower fairings and also the visor after I bought a few better pieces recently. It is available for sale. :2thumbsup
