    4000cc aye, wow

They are four stroke but 1988 is getting on a bit. But it depends how much money/love the previous owner put into it.

gonna have to get an opinion from someone a bit less noobish than me.

    EDIT: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...n-38530560.htm

I suppose this is it? Gorgeous bike.

yes 4 stroke and they are very reliable, even if they havnt had the best service record. i had one on the same year, red, white and blue which had done 50,000 miles and was cold seized when i bought it. i freed it up and it was fine, very light blue smoke on start up is normal. good bike but get a bit boring once youve got used to it especially if you try a mates 600 out. tyre choice can be a bit limited size wise. damn good bike though you wouldnt be dissapointed

forgot to say the fairing panels are old now and tend to get vibration cracks in odd places, most things easy and cheap to replace, regulator/rectifier can be troublesome but not expensive.

I test rode one of those at the start of the year and it felt almost exactly like the CBR250 I'd been thrashing around on for a couple of years...except with a bit more obviously. Should be nice and bulletproof if it's anything similar to the 250 (which I think it is)

    I got it!

I have been doing it up and it is definately a gem to own. I will post link if anyone is keen to see the "refurbishing" pics I did on the bike. A very nice and comfortable bike to ride and much more docile than my other GSXR750. It has better grunt than a 250 and very smooth too. I have just ordered the missing mid panel from UK costing me a small fortune.

I have been doing a fair bit of research on this model of bike [NC23] on the internet and have heaps of information if anybody is interested - right down to finding a copy of the Haynes manual someone put up for download. However, I bought a real copy from TradeMe recently.

I have in excess both sides of the lower fairings and also the visor after I bought a few better pieces recently. It is available for sale.
