We seem to be starting a keen following for these Thursday night blats......

What: A romp in the Northern Valleys
When: Thursday night after work on the 27th Oct
Where: Meeting @ Shell Westgate
Why: Just because!!

Well, the votes are in and the people have spoken! Meeting @ 6.30pm leaving 6.45ish (for those late-comers)...

Route inteaded is from Westgate we travel north to Old North Rd, follow that for approx 5 or 6 kms then turn onto Peak Road following all the way to SH16. We then turn right onto Kahiakatea Flats Road (nice long straights) ending up at Dairy Flat (by Caltex) which is now called SH17 (used to be SH1). We turn right onto SH17, travel 2 or 3 kms then (this is the important part guys!! you know who I'm talking about....;)) turn right into Green Rd then right into Sunnyside then right at Riverhead-Coastville Highway. We blat down this Rd for 3kms then turn left into Wake Rd. This road takes us to the Paremoremo Prison where most of you buggers come from (just kiddin) we turn left then right into Paremoremo Rd. Good bit of 'interesting road' for 5kms then we arrive @ Albany. Last stop Old Albany Pub. :) :drinkup:

Only hopefully the weather WILL stay good for us but as Juzzer puts it.... maybe I should post the next ride as you only seem to bring on the rain...
I WILL POSTPONE TILL THE FOLLOWING THURS NIGHT ONLY IF THE WEATHER IS SHITE.

This ride caters for all levels of riding - so Learner/newbies are welcome!!

Look at the first post nana rooster.......... I would say bypass the Peak Rd section and just meet us @ Wake Road or Sunnyside Road which is off Riverhead - Coastville Highway. Just got home from this event...great fun! What a stunning evening to ride in!! In saying that, the sunstrike wasn't too pleasant. :cool:

Thanks to Qkchk for the organisation, and u rode a good pace up front.

About 30 bikes present, mostly sprotbikes. Good to see so many familiar faces and especially all the flash new bikes members have bought since I rode with you last!

Sorry to hear about the guy who binned early on in the peace through Woodhill forrest. Apparently he was ok and rode his bike home. Not sure who he is on KB?

Some twerp stood out in the middle of the road waving and telling everyone to slow down on the hill down to the Albany pub. I stopped and asked him what his problem was, he was all emotional and complained that we were all racing down 'his' hill. He asked me if we were a club of some sort because he wanted to lay a complaint, I told him that I couldn't tell him who we were if he was going to do that and even apologised for the disruption...not sure I needed to do that though! When you get so many bikes together it is rather noisy for any resident to bear I guess!! :love:

Well that was my first country ride on the new bike and I must say it :banana:

It has instantly added 20-30kmph more corner speed. That thing handles :done:

Apart from pissing and I mean pissing down with oil - prob a simple gasket issue.... the bike feels mint. I'm gonna get it some new tyres, firm up the suspension a notch and I'll be :laugh:

Nice to see all the old faces and black yoshi's unicorn - sexy piece of machinery that :not:

The ride home was fun - remember people if there's no room to lanesplitt there's always the footpath - or so I heard:whistle:

Well I learnt 2 things tonight.

Number one, if you know where your going don't follow the bike in front of you he doesn't know where he's going.

Number two, read where the ride is to, not just the first few steps of it.

Yes Quikchk I followed a bike through the next intersection, nice blatt for 15 mins or so untill he turned into a metal drive way. Wonder what he thought I was doing following every where he went.

So I had carefully lost everyone, decided to head out to Helensville then on to Albany. By the time I arrived at the pub either I had beaten you all there(unlikely), or you'd all buggered off.

Waited a few mins and then headed off home, joined 3 other bikes and enjoyed a few km's of fun on the motorway before they headed of at Takapuna. The bikes looked like they had been at the Shell station, but don't hold me to that.

Next time I'll trust myself more, and not follow someone blindly like I did.
