No. Those guys are the ones who don't know they are crazy (but are). The safest group is the one standing trackside, bullshitting each other about how good they were/will be, lamenting be unable to prove it, if they only had a bike.

That's funny. That was me last year. 'Till Drunken Monkey kindly chucked me the keys to the seven fiddy for some stupid shit in the lunch session. Then Jimbo had the unenviable task of standing trackside, chewing nails to the quick, watching his bike being raped.

Ahhhhh, good times......

Jus got back home. Thanks all for organising it, usual good job. Shame about the rain at half time, and the condition of the track was a bit crap basically. Still the new track looks bloody brilliant, so can't wait to have a crack at that one.

FOund a shortcut round Hamilton on the way back which saves about 30 mins. Actually the ride back up was pretty mint.

Other discovery was my exup doesn't like tight tracks and 4 yr old, worn, touring tyres are not really up to the job. Or is it I am jus crap:sherlock:
Only saw one bin, I think it was Frosty.

Oh and Daryl or DSS has got my old resurrected R1, and it is good to see that he is treating the bike with the respect that it deserves.

I saw his/your R1 at Puke the day Daryl came off and was hospitalised, and not for one moment did I know it was your old one! Daryl, it's great you've overcome your injuries and are back at the track. :ride:

Glad to hear you had a great time, sorry I couldn't join you. :(

I had an awsome time.
I rode down there on saturday with ranzer, it rained the whole way so we were pretty thoroughly soaked by the time we got to Taupo.

The weather on sunday was a mixed bag to say the least. It was sunny enough to dry out my gear a bit from the ride down, but there were a few heavy showers (that prompted many to leave early).
I thought I was really lucky, in my final track session the track had dried out enough that it wasn't a problem.
Then it pissed down again, really heavily.
But after it stopped, when I headed home it was fine all the way, really nice weather!
So nice that I decided to take a detour at Huntly and take the scenic route up Hetherington road and SH22.

The bike ran about as well as it's ever run. And it was a hell of a lot of fun on the track.

Thanks heaps for organising it Frosty!

very good! the whole weekend was a minter. rode down by myself as per my ussual preference and got shat on with rain the whole way (you cagers are pussys) got there first, chucked shit in the dryer and took a nice long shower to get everything back into proportion (cough) got everything set up and noticed juzzer and yoshi in the back there. sweet!
Hit that lovely resturant/bar and had a good time there, shame there wasnt that whole 18+ thing going on but it wasnt too bad. got back to the motel and hung around for a while, the booze wasnt really doing it for me so took a early one. I did get some footage of juzzer playing with a girl a bit younger than him but thats been recorded over. I think your in juzzer, she seems keen!

woke up at 6:30 and saw the mint day and felt pretty stoked that we paid that taxi driver $2 for good weather, sorted shit out and follow people to the track eventually. Good to see the great turnout, lots old faces and new faces.

Had a good play on the minimoto but shamefully I wont ride one again without a helmet, those things are dodgy as going full blast.

I left just after lunch, I really wasnt keen to hit that track after a rain, it was good though 80% of my ride home was in sun which was a welcome relief after the ride down. Met up with dover about 30-40k out of taupo which err.... made my trip to auck a bit more intresting and .... well time flies by when your having fun.... cough.

I btw, have the most luck out of anyone I know. I saw 7-8 cops on the way home and didnt have an encounter with any, although I had a scare before the autoban.

anyways. I hope you guys all got home safe and I'll see you next trackday!

edit: and hi to the blue (yamaha?) road/dirt bike on the way back to auckland from papakura, nice bike.

Wicked day at the track...and what rain??? Few drops and a bit of thunder & some people give up & pack up. Geez... Harden up!

Borrowed a wee digi cam for the day but I'm not all that impressed with the pics. Here's a few tho.... Im sure other's will have better shots than me.

Cool to put some more faces to names. Hope everyone gets home safe & sound.

thanks a million to everybody that came along, a really special thanks to all those who marshalled and did the 'behind the scenes' work that you guys did not see. I am really sorry I had to shut down early, but the sweeper had literally become a sea of rocks and debris. It was totally unrideable.

Cheers again Frosty for organising the day. Pass on my thanks to all the behind the scenes dudes too. Shouldn't worry about calling the day early. Everyone probably made the decision to pack and go home/get pissed anyway. Right get yourself away now and start organising the next one. Cheers

Huge thanks to everyone that was involved in the organising and running of this.

Despite all the problems with crap all over the track at the start and the ocassional shower this day was excellent. The track surface is getting better and better as more of it gets resealed.

HUGE thanks to Frosty for organising the track day. I really enjoyed my track debut. I was the slowest one out there, but my confidence starting developing through the day.

Huge thanks also go to the marshalls (one in particular who helped me with a wee problem I had with my bike - sorry I didn't get your name but it was very much appreciated), and to all those who helped behind the scenes.

Was good to meet so many KBers and have a good natter. I had a fantastic day. Cheers to everyone.

I have heaps of photos - will start a thread in the stunting forum with the wheelie pics.

Can't thank everyone that helped to make this happen enough. Was nice to have some selfish time on the track after Marshalling @ Puke, so REALLY appreciated what you guys and girls were doing for us out there. Well run Tony/Frosty. Flagging system seemed to work well. Nice of you to try out the inside edge of the hairpin for us:thud: Glad you and the SV were OK.

Thanks Frosty and crew for an awesome day. I too bailed when the heavens opened as my gear was still damp from the ride down on Saturday and I was totally sick of being wet.

Great company and cool to catch up with some I havent seen for ages. The track time itself was fantastic and I am keen to have another go...I think I am getting just a tad faster.

Only downer - getting a SPEEDING TICKET just north of Taupo dammit!

Ditto to what everyone else has said, didn't think i'd even get the bike off the ute given the forecast and my bung body.

But suprisingly, a good dose of painkillers and adrenalin meant that riding was fairly painless throughout the day, until home time when I hurt shoulder loading bike back up, nevermind, some more drugs and a couple of healthy bourbons when I got home soon sorted that out.

Cheers to those that made it happen and look foward to next time.

Just got back from Taupo. Special thanks to FROSTY and his marshalls etc. Excellent intro format for this noob. Was totally put at ease with the famil laps etc.

Didnt think I did too bad with my intro to track riding. Was very frustrating passing a big bike on the outside around the sweeper a couple fo times only to have him/her nut off into the distance AGAIN with their superior horsepower. :)

Excellent fun though. Thanks Keystone19 and Poos.

There will be other track days I promise--
this being only the second one I've run there are a few minor issues I want to work through
Like dumb frosty forgetting to tell everyone that on the 4 lap warmup all the marshalls would wave their flags to show the marshal points
Also not mentioning the meaning of stationary flag pointed at your bike
It was hard to know just how much a new track rider would remember

As I had menitoned, thought your familiarise/explaining corners lap was excellent. However buggered if I could hear what you were saying but that was unavoidable. Someone inevitably has their litre-Vtwin running right next to your helmet.

Wheelie of the day goes to Death (who else) on his second run, closley followed by WT with his spreader (i didnt see him do a highchair.. couldnt get his skinny legs over the screen), then Yoshi with his Extended version of the front straight.

Had a brilliant time
Love your work Juzza & Yoshi, you are both really farken hardcase.

The three o'clock wake up to hear all about Hooker Boys' adventure at Bobbies was one out of the box that's for sure.

Thanks to Spank & Frosty for the organisation & time put in.

Loved the track riding, had a blast on the last run on my ZXR, I was able to get right into the groove, even enjoyed the wet run I had (albeit a tad slow).

Thanks for the company SpeedMedic, you must PM me your address so I can send you a copy of the Jenny Craig inspirational CD which you took a shine to!!

It was cool to put a face to the name of heaps of people (to many to mention)

Bring on the next track day I say.

Met some cool new people, and some dickheads.

Maximum to the bloke who (after calling it a day) raced back to the motel to get his pride and joy for me to have a skid on. Still a little stunned at that offer. Do something about the weather next time will ya?

That was heaps of fun - even though I only had a half day on the track. Had a couple of dodgey moments in the wet on the track but survived ok. Awesome ride up to Auck too - cheers lads for showing us Wgtn folk those roads! Absolutely bucketed down at Bombay though and we spent the last few hours riding in the rain wearing plastic bags - not fun at all. We're in Hamilton at the mo and it's all still wet.

Cheers Tony for organising it all and Felix for the pics! Good to meet a few more KBers in person too. Skelstar - good on ya mate for getting out on the track after putting up such a fuss!

Well i have to say dazza, shes a minter mate, although you got a little work to get on par with my baby :stoogie: one day i'll get to get past 30kph on it. Nana

Mint day, but funny day, weather was interesting, but was good to see not many shy away because of a little rain, quite liked frosty's new rule, when it's wet it's slippery :spudwow: I had a good day, but was bit weird cause i didn't really push like i normally do, in the back of my head i knew if i crashed the TL i was fucked (i know, the whole so what if you crashed it, it's fucked already) so in more than a few places i held back, so didn't enjoy myself as much as i could, but all in all haven't been on the bike for 2 months so was damn good to get out on it, and it reminded me of why the fuck did i buy a car (maybe the pending court case :Police: :( ) The wheelie sess was cool, Drew you da man with your first attempt, fkn brillant, Death and WT with the usual tom foolery, took a while to get heat into my front tyre for some stoppie action, and one landing rather sideways was a laugh.

Can't f'n wait for them to get the new track up and running, it looks like a peraler of a cricut, best make sure i have a bike by then.

So: 1. Anyone spot me a GSXR1000 motor/
2. Anyone spot me $13,000 so i can pay back the missus and keep my GSXR1000
3. Worse comes to worse anyone got a GN250 for sale?

Cool as day all in all, great to meet new faces and catch up with some old, some real old Jimbo600 mate you're looking a bit worse for wear, got some mint anti ageing face cream from Dior, PM if ya interested.

Hope we didn't screw up any of the Fast Boys Lines on our RGV 250's - bit slow but didn't get T-boned or get passed in the wet session much from memory so must have been doing something right. Certainly impressed following and watching you boys throw the big bikes around such a little tight circuit.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to frosty for the organising, had an absolutely wicked time out there. Also a big thanks to gareth_d, his highness spankme and zappf (felix) for the mint ride up the line with us on monday morning! :Punk:

You should've let me know the Wellington crew were going to be in Hamilton. Would've been good to catch up with you lot and talk shit about how good we were on the track :ride:
Well originally we were going to stay at Pukekohe but there was no room at the inn when we got there (well there was but it was all too expensive for us pennyless students)! Rode for an hour an a half (or however long it is) to Hamilton in rain the whole way instead. :pinch: Otherwise, yeah that would've been cool!

Forgot to say - nice one marshalls too! Thanks heaps for hanging around out in the paddock for the day!:niceone:
