Edit: As Skelstar pointed out, not everyone is aware of the significance of TRTNR. It's a ride for all riders that the Welly Hardcore started on Thursday nights, then they publicised it and wannabes like me took over posting cos they were too slow!! Usually a quick dash for an hour or so over a route mutually agreed upon (generally diametrically opposite to suggestions from Skelstar), followed by social intercourse at Breakers Pool Hall(?) above Grumpy Mole in the Hutt. Individuals wishing to pursue further intercourse are invited to do so by individual arrangement with the other parties.
Pace is up to the individual. We wait at pre-determined points for re-groups. To give you an idea, we have everything from gutless 250s to heros on 1000s.
Original post: Same bat time, same bat channel. Maungaraki carpark, after 6, ready to ride 6.30. Everyone welcome (except anyone riding flouro stickered BMWs).
Now who's going to the ballet this week? And who's got to get new tyres after chewing up the old ones over 3500kms (softcock - Loosebruce gets 2000km)? And who's gonna put the cow-coloured Jade back where a 250 belongs?

Wonder if we should post another thread at some stage with a more descriptive title so we can alert some more new-forum-people that dont know what TRTNR stands for. Theres been a few new additions recently.

Yes indeed. Turn left at the set of lights (at Maungaraki) and we will be hanging out in the carpark there.

Is that 2k out of a rear Racetec ? You have to keep these things in context madboy.
And I was just about to put the TRTNR post up to find you had beaten me to it. The eagerness of youth eh ?

Hey I resent that...I think its a gutless 249cc anyway.
The two demographs dont have to be mutually exclusive do they? :)
Still theres so much for me to resent in that 'edited' post. Its taken me a while to see it.

There must be a lot of cagers getting done for crossing the centre line then, if the cops are doing their job properly.
Shall we head that way tonight for a look ? Yes, we will head over Paekak tonight..........definitely Paekak Hill.

The Real Thurs Night Ride. I think...
Spot on - there is also TOTNR (The Other Thursday Night Ride).
Although, lately it seems that the two groups have merged.
We had eleven bikes out last night - everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and there was talk of a certain V-Twin rider coming to the dark side and getting a multi thou......

Mrs H and I went to see The World's Fastest Indian last night. Thursday night riding should recommence from next week, weather permitting...

Ohh your so prudy.
I'm sick of running out of puff (or poof for you Sparky Bills) and being toasted on the straights.
It's not turning to the dark side but rather seeing the light.
Thanks Deano for the chase last night. Made a change to see my tailpipes.

Speaking of that hill, I really need to harden up. I couldn't get my knee down to save myself - and believe me I tried!! Might have to get some sandpaper out at home so that people don't start questioning my sexual orientation.

I had a good time guys. Thanks.
Thanks also to Deano and Jimbo for finding my cellphone and delivering it. Was very amusing ringing my own phone (to find where it is) and all I hear is "where is the ear-piece on this thing!?!?..." (nokia N-Gage). :niceone:

Don't try so hard and if it happens it happens. I've tried really hard before to get the knee down and I just end up going slower.
Then I am told that my knee is only about 1cm above the deck anyway, so if I had knee sliders they would be scraping.
End of the day :whocares:
I would rather be 'fast' and not get the knee down than be a knee down slow poke poser.

I would rather be 'fast' and not get the knee down than be a knee down slow poke poser.Oh, slow I was, that's for sure, the amount of corners I came out of thinking "geez I got that wrong" just in the aid of cranking the bike and myself over just that little bit further. But I only want to get the knee down to scuff up the knee sliders so it looks like I'm a knee down slow poke poser... once I've achieved that then I can work on actually being fast. It's an ego thing - priorities!
Might just save the sliders for the minimoto next week, that'll scuff em up :devil2:

Following you round a corner last night I thought ' shit he's only wearing jeans...that's gonna hurt' No touch down but pretty damm close.
I tried and tried to get the knee down. Once I did, it's no big deal, but it is so much fun.
