How does putting fairings on change the engine?

looks heaps cooler than the half fairing ones - kinda reminds me of a gixxer 650 :o

For some reason its reminding me of a Vstrom/GS500 and SV1000 all squished together.

I'd have one, but not in the blue/white.

The guy from Sportsbikes.nz is / was selling his fully faired SV. I looked at the aftermarket fairings but basically the essence of the original design was a half fairing, the faired SV looks okayish but i doubt many would plump for it

as the blurb says this limited model is to mark the 20th anniversary of the GSXR range. Now i can understand suzuki releasing the limitied edition K4 GSXR 600 and 750 to mark 20 years of this bike, (in fact i nearly bought the 600 in the limited colours, but decided blue wasn't me).

But can someone please tell me how sticking a full fairing on a SV1000 and painting it blue and white and calling it a 20th anniversary GSXR edition makes any sense.

Whats the thinking there, I mean surely people buy SV 'cus of the v twin the TL1000 heritige, the torque, the fact its not an inlinefour supersports, you name it - so by making it look like a GSXR and alluding to the GSXR past is just daft, and I suspect something that will turn potential buyers away
.
If they had a bunch of spare fairings at the factory they should have released it under its own limited edition, which had nothing to do with the GSXR, and then they might shift a few more. Personally I think it looks good, but its sending out mixed messages.

.would you prefer to see a girl in a mini skirt or a ball gown.......

well if she was leaking, had a dirty exhaust port and a chipped sump, a mini skirt might be a tad disturbing!

WHAT - that makes no sense. Be specific.

Oh and by the way 5 fullstops in a row is not punctuation, it just makes you look like a slow thinker.

Just bring back the TLR FFS . . . or at least give this a boost in the power stakes, 91kw on a thou's not quite enough. Surely since '98 Suzuki have made some advances in the field of V-Twin engines? Why is it that they seem to think we will be happy if they just keep the same engine and just package it in a different wrapper? Dont get me wrong, in the R, the engine was a gem, but then they seemed to just knock the powerband off it and tried to see how many different bikes they could shoe horn it into.

Does anyone know how many bikes has it appeared in now? Suzuki wound up selling it to a number of manufacturers in the end, Cagiva and a few others I cant remember off the top of my head. I remember them talking about it in an old issue of Two Wheels, there was like four different marques, and about a dozen odd different models.

Mind you, this is from the same crowd that have brought us the same old GN250 for the last 20, 25 years. Well, I guess when your onto a winner . . .

What? You want a guy in a miniskirt? Dude, c'mon.:nono:

Not keen on the top of that fairing though, too upright and makes it look a bit cheapo!

Prefer the naked SV1000 in dark blue with the black frame. Stick a decent set of cans on that and it's a sexy piece of kit!

That's a really freakin' ugly fairing. Does nothing for me. However, the SVs with NO fairing are very tasty, my precious...
