Sorry if you guys have seen this before, but I havent spotted it on here so far, so here goes.
The thing about this clip is how quickly the guy is dropping this bike (VFR400?? Not sure) onto its line. He's not going nuts trying to get his knee down, hes not even moving his lower body around on the bike all that much. But as he comes up to the corner, he just DROPS it into the turn. No lining it up, no leaning it over, just BANG - goes from vertical to the right angle for the corner as fast as possible - and he gets it right every time. Doesnt often need to adjust his line as he corners.
Impressive to watch.

Took me a while to realise what was going on at the end when he put his foot down. I think I seriously expected him to just keep riding until he either fell off or ran out of gas. Its kind of mesmerising to watch.
It looks like a timed circuit, so I would say that he has done that a few times in the past . . .

Yep....practise and familiarity with bike & course. Note how he lifts & drops his upper body to assist with COG changes. Cool to watch.

Its a good sport that one, a chap I knew in london years ago who did cbt training had a course marked out. Used to take my F2 round it - fun. I used to have problems with tight cones, the F2 required a partial stoppie turn to get round em - he swore you didnt need to but I never figured out how unless you were on a scooter.
The quick turning is easy, just requires not being so lazy on the turning - looks like he is just simply muscling the bars. Nice throttle work tho I thought.
Surprised they dont run those comps here tho.

If he tried hanging off he wouldn't have been able to make such quick transitions. Great skills, would be useful in traffic.

Mmmm! Saw something similar with Japanese police bikers doing a training circuit, equally tight and twisty on VT750's~ I think.
This guy has some mad skills alright.
It's all in the steering! A quick counter-steer push on the inside handle bar and the bike falls into the turn. When he reaches the right angle he keeps it there - and so should you. Keep steering inputs to a minimum, preferably one, or you'll upset the the bike in the corner (get it right in the entry).
Meanwhile, you too can have this level of cornering apptitude by training in Tokyo traffic!

stick some cars there and you'd be lane splitting around Auckland!

I'll stand corrected here but I think thats an instructor at a Jap advanced riding school. Those bikes were vfr400 NC24's stripped down Naked-with big crash bars on em--Colemans had a few a couple of years back

yep, think its in japan. I had a whole bunch of short vids of a competition a while back, but different bike and course. Not sure if its an instruction thing tho - the ones I saw were timed events - you could see em doin the scoring.

Reminds me of the jet sprint stuff.
Are they special tyres? Looks like shit loads of traction way down low.
Thanks for the clip

hmmm mabye..... if i can try it with yours :bash:
looks VERY much like my vtz, same engine bracket running in the curve under the engine, similiar front and fairings...... but its not quite the same... possibly a Spada i reckon or a vt250fe with the front fairing removed.
pic of my bike below (not actually my bike)
edit: couple of differences i notice after watching and pauseing
- no rear indicators (could have broken off)
- two brake discs on the front instead of one
