Caltex Rimutaka, 10am for a 10.15ish take-off. Pretty casual affair, no set route, we'll figure that out on the day. All welcome.
Forecast is few late showers, northwest winds stengthening so hopefully we'll get some quality time in the 'rapa.
See yas there.

I hope you guys all get back OK, the wind is getting pretty strong right now.
I came home from Martyinborough early due to needing to get the work car loaded up with tools etc and to give the dog an outing. The wind was stronger on the Takas than when we crossed in the morning, A couple of nice sideways pushes, nothing too major. The wind is shitloads stronger now though, reflections of yesterdays winds, so I hope you all get back OK.
I saw Deano and his crew headed over the hill around 12.30pm
Here's hoping they don't have any issues either.
No excuses Str8! You piked out! Clever girl, I bet Skelstars sweating contemplating the return crossing.

Thanks for the ride guys. That wind was def an issue coming back! I was putting my 'ride like a demon' method of combating the wind but ended up parked on the otherside of the road as a result. Thank the motorcycle gods nothing was coming the other way. Even the ride along the motorway was 'interesting'.
A fun ride though :shifty:

Hey, What was wrong with Madboy today? He's looking rather I'll.....Rather I should say - His riding looked rather I'll.
Did you see him? He was riding at normal speed in the group.
Whats up with that? I didn't know old age setting in could hit so hard!
Mind you, I won't mention the parallel motorway run from Naenae to Haywards!

He was doing $1.05 all the way from Masters-Feathers. Weird. I was able to keep up. When I gave him the GPS things were different though.

Made that GPS work for it's money today. $2.19 is the asking price now. Woulda got even better value for money if it wasn't for those winds.
Reason for pace today? Group riding, high winds. On those big open plains $2.50+ is the price for a runner. That's a price I don't want to pay with vicious winds. $1.05 a much safer idea.

The Wifey and I went up to the top for a coffee and back down today. Winds were quite vicious alright. Saw a few bikes going up on our way down, must have been you KB'ers.
