Photos today of the ST1300 as a result of its wee saga on Boxing Day. The rear pannier looks shocking. I suspect that adding a new brake lever would make this rideable. Lots of ugly and expensive panel grinding though. Hopefully the lefthand side is OK.

And to complete the set, a Shoei XR1000 after doing a great job protecting its wearer's head from the combined effects of gravity, forward momentum, asphalt, inattention and following too closely.

Never wear anything less than all the gear, all the time.

Ouch! But the RIDER is OK and thats the main thing. The bike is just a mass produced machine at the end of the day. You, on the other hand Mr H, could not be replaced.

Ouch Hitcher. That damage isn't a good site. Hope the insurance comes to the party and you heal up soon.

It's weird how the pannier has scratch marks in two different directions. I guess the bike must've spun around after it fell?

There's only one thing left to do....StreetFighter the F&*KER!!!:2guns:

Hitcher...sorry to hear about your bin...When we rode through there there was still heaps of traffic and heaps of cops talking to various bikers too!

Hope you heal quick...let me know if there's anything you need a hand with.

Good to see you're okay and hope you return to riding again very soon.

Far out... dunno about those first few shots, but that duvet is just far too bloody girlie for a biker. You're gonna have to get much more masculine bedroom accessories before you're allow back to TRTNR.

I hope you're sorted and back on the road soon. :shit:

your lucky Hitcher :yeah: everything did its job how its supposed too, the crash bumpers on the fairing panel, the pannier & mirror all minimised the damage. And the most important the Shoei did exactly what its meant to do:yeah:

hope it all gets sorted soon & your back ticking up kms under those wheels;)

The damage looks about the same as one of my rental Ultras that had a lie down in Greymouth, that was rideable after. Big tourers crash quite well, don't they.
Your helmet's damage would put one off open face lids.

:msn-wink: That was my first thought - WHAT the hell is that pattern on the helmet??????
Duvet - Doh!

Bike looks fine - 'tis but a scratch and will cut/polish out in no time...

The panier seems to have taken most of the impact. Apart from the mirror and lever, how's the bike mechanically? And how's you mechanically coming along?
