Useless bit of info - 1 in 4 kiwi males have some degree of colour blindness, and they got it from their mother! The gene is passed from father to daughter (who isnt affected by it, they are merely carriers), and then on to the son. The most common colours to be affected are reds greens and browns (altho some have trouble with other colours as well).

Women can be genetically colour-blind, it's just the chances are a lot lower due to the gene being recessive.
