View Full Version : Corro Loop Sat 11th feb this weekend meeting 9:30 autobahn

N4CR
6th February 2006, 22:50
AS the title says.

Meeting autobahn 9:30 leaving 10 so it ain't too late back home. Ride takes about 4 hours there and back. There will be stops at the usual place - kopu fuel and the bar after all the twisty stuff (can't remember the name).

All speeds welcome, just if it is your first ever time out on 100k roads this is NOT reccomended, wait for the newbies ride. Just to clarify this point - I mean if it is your first time out then this is not the best road for you.

NO BINS! - if someone is going faster than you don't try catch them.. simple. Ride to your own pace - if I get the right amount of numbers we might be able to have a newbies group too. And following on from that last point - this is for non 'virgin' newbies.. ie you have been on atleast one ride before. If you guys want to make this your first ride and feel up for it just leave a post and we can sort something out... in saying that this is a long tricky route

See you all there.

-Tristan

Well it has two wheels, its a 180cc two-stroke, its automatic and has 12" wheels not quite the bike I wanted. its great for around town but at 110kmhr it starts to wobble around the place.

Yeah it looks pretty rats arse usually, but as of late has been terrible. Now I see why they want to make that other bridge.. don't want to maintain this crapper :sherlock:

See you guys there tomorrow (I'm out to go to this thing people call parties! WOW!). If it is pissing down I won't be there, new tyres don't like the rain so much, neither does my thrashed gear. When commuting I have no choice edit: and quite often enjoy it: , but ~400kms worth? No thanks.

Weather forecast is for clearing tonight so should be ok tomorrow. They do say some showers in the afternoon around Whitianga so IMHO I suggest going Anti Clockwise so if possible we avoid the showers through some of the twisty bits as we should should be through there before they come and the West Coast should be dry on the way back. :)

Thanks for the ride guys. Was a good time and was good to meet some new faces also.

Pleased to hear you survived the bird attack Leong :)

Quite impressed with the pace of some of those 250's.

Hope your exhausts still in one piece Tristank.

SwanTiger
11th February 2006, 17:20
Quite dissapointed that I couldn't up with you lot above 130kmph but enjoyed the ride, especially those twisties into and out of Coromandel.

Conclusion: Need a faster bike.

beyond
11th February 2006, 17:31
Swantiger, you enjoyed yourself mate and that's what counts. :)

Good to see people maintaining their own pace and not getting themselves into trouble. Anyone can speed in a straightline if they have a big enough bike but it's when you hit the twisties that you find out if you have learnt enough and in the tight stuff a 250's plenty good enough too.

what was that L plate cage bullshit!!! I thought you had style :finger:

Cheers for the ride guys, had an awesome day and im totally shattered now. That bird that Leonghit narrowly missed becoming part of my head wear and obviously decided life was shit and took the easy way out.

Sorry if i pissed you guys off on the motorway/highway... me and tristan like to have a good pisstake on the straight stuff to make it enjoyable.

See you at the next one!

Beyond - you really can move that GSX1400, guess im gonna have to settle for 'second fastest' :second: (wait for tristan to start bitch'n)

Hahaha straights and gareth.. yep. lol

Good too see you guys there, I had fun for the 1/2 of the loop I ended up doing (friggin dropped my wallet but got it back from the local poh-liiiice while they checked WOF's halfway up the coast).

Hope everyone learned little things about their bikes today.
Beyond... I am yet to understand how you get that behemoth around corners, I was going to laugh as I hooned by but it did not happen! Very very impressive! Does it have thruster jets or something?

And you mr g-dog, 3rd fastest :P Good to see you have got used to the bike though, some impressive black lines coming off the rear through the corners when you get it right over :)

And firefight, good to see you turning into a ricer, got the L plate, the cage and everything  Is this the reason why you don't want to do the sunday fc ride? hehehe
