Do the mirrors on Harley's actually work?

Coz the ones on 27UWS don't. Stuck behind him (he was splitting... slowly but safely) with COMPLETE disregard to the 2 guys behind him who eventually went around him.

Mate if you're on here, don't be shy to use the mirrors, and if they DO work, don't be scared to let others past.

I moved out of the way for a "Gang" lanesplitting down the Hutt Motorway this morning. It was a Bloke and his wife on a HD Road King. One bike.

Wonder if it was the same guy i saw on an electra glide, with his mate on the back, shit he was having trouble at low speeds, it looked like an elephant riding a childs bicycle. Wobbling all over the road, his mate flaying about like he was in mortal danger and all this at about 20K's, couldn't see any spit, but I wouldn't be surprised if they where drooling!

Nah, but I always marvel at the engine looking like it's about to fall out of the bike at idle.

I'm sure they are pretty good to ride though, they say the best bike is the one you've got the keys to, as long as you're on two wheels eh?

I've found as a general rule the slower they (any other rider, not limited to Harleys) lanesplit, the less they look in their mirrors. And the less inclined they are to make any effort to let a faster bike splitting up behind them go through. Like cage drivers in the fast lane - "I'm going fast enough for me, any bugger who wants to pass must be a friggin idiot and therefore I'm not letting 'em through."

ive ridden pillion on a number of harleys and have to say, i rarely noticed the vibration...its a lot less than others think. worst i think was the 65 panhead, but that had speed wobbles as well.

:violin: I always thought important stuff in front of you and anything behind is irrellevent when riding. Unless riding in a group, then you always keep an eye out for ya fellow group members, in case something happens to them.
