babyB
26th February 2006, 21:45
We will be having a BBQ Lunch at at my place on Saturday 25th March. We have laid out a plan for the morning ride :Punk:(rain will not stop this event)
All KBers will be welcome.
Tent space and some floor space and shitty coffee available for the bold.

RIB has volinteered ta burn ya steaks 'n' weaners for ya, but ya will need to bring them (or a salad). BYO ya own booze. (water & some coke, lemonaid will be avalible)

This will be a Poss "House Cooling" BBQ as this place is on the market. Ya can wear black if ya like but it is not complusary:shake: .

RIB has organised a ride as part of this. ...UPDATED 23/03 about 160km, estimate time 2-2.5 hours
OK Ride will start from BabyB's 10am Sharp ( txt/ph BabyB on 027 4319159 for the address, it is near the Pyes Pa School). Please don't dilly-dally as we only have a little time before lunch to do this ride.
First Stop will be at Tauriko Service Station for fueling, so if you can not find BabyB's my advice is to wait for us at that Service Station (if ya not there before 10:15pm we will be gone).
The next gathering point for any riders who have not jointed us by now is Tirau. RIB wants ta be there 10:45am, where he will be gathering in the bikes again. Please Txt RIB on 027 4534350 if ya intend meeting us here. Will be leaving Tirau 11am sharp, so if ya not there by then we will have gone.
We will be heading to Rotovas and taking some side roads that lead back to Pyes Pa Rd. If ya wait for us at the Pyes Pa/Ngongotaha T-intersection you might just catch us there between 11:30am & 12:30pm. We will not be turning there but going straight on to Hamurana and then looping back ta Pyes Pa via a cool side road.
If ya lost or late (later than 12noon) txt/ph BabyB (027 4319159) for directions ta BabyB's place & head straight back there.
Please remember that we are expecting an increase in traffic on Pyes Pa due to the Rally.

i do have plenty of hard floor space available inside to kip down on ..has a couple Dbl airbeds available (probably equipped with slow leeks:confused: ).

PM me let me know please if ya comming for B&B with self-service, bad coffee, burnt food, hard floors or flat beds & ill through in a couple of rugrats for early morning anoyances:whistle:Your more than welcome :2thumbsup
ah aint life grand:wacko: so lets make it a good one. :grouphug:

So Far Sat looks the go. If we do Sat I will be probably High tailing it back to Whangarei no later than 4pm after would as I will have Customer champing at the bit ( well they are horses) as this is the end of my Holiday, so riding company will be welcome as long as they are happy to stick with me. I usually return over the Kaimai's via Matamata to Whangarei. Took me 4hrs 5min today (Tau to Bombay BP 1 1/2hrs) cause I was running late:whistle: (Flat tyre, honest). It takes 5hrs normal (Tau to Bombay BP 1 3/4hrs), if I'm lazy and eat a full meal on the way, or 4 1/2Hrs if I only fuel and scoff a pie.
Have a few back roads it mind for a ride before hand, will detail this later.

Thanks,

Doug

PS: keep the votes coming. It let's us know who interested>

What are you getting Zero?
It's a Kinetic GF170 (which I have tracked down to be of Honda origins, but different brand name sold on the Indian Domestic Market). 15bhp, so it's not powerful, but it will do as a first bike.

Will post a thread with Pics on the newbie rides forum when I get it. :)

OK the Ride for this will start at BabyB's (address will be given later, but it is near the Pyes Pa School) 10am Sharp. Please don't dilly-dally as we only have a little time before lunch to do this ride.
First leg will take us to Tirau, where I will be gathering in the bikes again. Want ta be here 10:45am but will be no later than 11am, so if ya want ta join in for here, I'd reckcommend ya be there 10:30am. I will not be hangin long here at all if we are here at 11am and will assume that ya are not joining the ride here if ya not there by that time.
From there we will be heading ta the T intersection at the end of Rotorua end of Pyes Pa (hopefully the long way). I'll re-gather the group here. We should be there by 12:30am. If ya lost or late at that time please head straight back ta BabyB's place.

Thanks

Doug
Edit:
Ta everyone: Please read the updated Calender (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=765&day=2006-3-25) and BabyB's first Post (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=523831&postcount=1)for the updated route plans as there has been one or two changes ta Ma plan since posting this..

BBQ Ride is gonna be about 160km estimated time 2 - 2.5hrs

looking forward to seeing you guys n gals

Anyone in need of exact directions /address to get to my place ....... please PM me .....i am on Oropi Gorge, Pyes Pa, Sth Tauranga.....

Note: there will be extra traffic around Turanga on Fri night & Saturday.....
There is a "TMMC Introductory Clubmans Rally" on that starts & ends in town.
Pyes Pa and Oropi Gorge Roads - extra traffic will start around 2pm at a guess. due to being named as 1 of access roads to viewing points.

I will update this as soon as i have further info..rumour has it that they maybe racing on upper Pyes Pa Road. this will not stop the ride or BBQ

Ok the Tour part of the TMMC Rally is running on Upper Pyes Pa Road. estimated time being 10.15 am. They & I have been in contact/ discussion & each aware of the other. Our paths should not cross but there will be increased traffic morning & after noon.
Please be aware & ride it respectfully just in case....I dint want phone calls from TMMC
Will be looking forward to seeing you all. meet new faces & catch up with old faces ride will be premo but no guarantees that the coffee or bangers will be palatable

That was some err, spirited riding... I must say I enjoyed the part(s) on the private racetrack where a certain GSXR 1000 kept doing huge wheelies. Keeps me smiling! Warr cuts a pretty good pace on his VFR, and the rest of you are hoons!! (Ok, I'm slow, I admit it)
To the BBQ, thanks BabyB, that was great! Good to meet you guys, and hang out, and start wearing the sides of me tyres!!

You searching for some Green Rep there!!
For someone who has only had a 600 for 2 weeks I thought you did mighty well. The test of a good rider is not how fast they can go it is that they ride within their ability. Going faster leaves untidy litter on the side of the road.
So big :2thumbsup for you.

Where was everone else that said they were coming to help eat all the food. ... :ar15:

Awesome feed organised by Karen.

And for Doug for planning the route and somehow keeping the ride together and then for showing his skills on the BBQ ... those mushrooms were yum!!

Yeah mate, I was sweet. After we got back on the bikes I quickly got over it and didn't let it ruin my day, as you might have noticed.

And Korn, that was a great run up the Kaimai's. Both GSXR's fully lent over side by side would've made an awesome pic!

And I did stick to my lane, remember the rider infront of you OWNS the road!:Pokey:

Hi Dudes & Dudettes. Thanks to those that bothered ta turn up (still trying ta put names ta faces:confused: ).

Thanks ta Cajun for joining us for a short while, even though he had a wedding ta go ta that day (awesome dude:Punk: by the way how did Mad Max's wed go? should a been a hardcase one knowing him:msn-wink: ). Thanks for getting back Ta us about transport for Zero, even if ya didn't have any.

Thank ta Waylander on ya offer as well Dude. Miss ya company on the ride and BBQ Dude. Too bad ya were not able ta get there.

Ride went well, even the tarseal farm track Hammy side of the Kaimai's rode better than I had hoped (considering that I hadn't got around ta checking that road out before hand:Oops: ).
Too bad my favourite side road off Pyes Pa had a cycle race on it but. I was just getting in ta the swing of Te Waerenga Rd when we came acrross them. 2Much was just going ta park his bike without the sidestand when I arrive at the Te Waerenga/Pyes Pa T:wait:
Warr proved that my old bike is more capible that I had thought. Ya ride "Verronica" well dude. Good ta see ya at the BBQ as well.

Thanks Ta BB for all the effort she had put in ta getting the Babie ready for us. The "Poppers" and "String" were fun too:D No need ta cook for this week cause there was plenty of spare kai left. we had prepared ourselves for 20+ So where were ya all<_< Ya missed a dam good ride and gathering.

Well is back ta reality for me this week now. Shit load of GG's ta plonk shoes on in Whangarei ta pay for me holiday.

Catch all another day Dude and Dudettes:Punk: ,
