We've just got the first of these factory drag bikes in the showroom.
1300 big bore engine, drag pipes, solid rear end with wheelie bars, air shifter, drag slicks.
Reputed to do low 9's out of the box.
$54,000 to you, Sir.
I want to run this baby in on my daily commute.

Any pics Lou???? I read an article on supercharged VRods in last months Motorcycle trader... was quite interesting!.

get a stock zx-14 and it'll do 9.3ish 1/4's, strap it and it'll go faster.
Strap a ZX10 and it'll do low 9's too for a lot less money.

This thread is useless without pics!! (and offers of free test rides!)

Or is it all a have?

a few places on the net

They reckon even the relatively inexperienced were getting high nines.

This may be a silly question, but is it street-legal (the VRod that is)?
Just that it still has the switch gear on the bars.

6th March 2006, 14:33
That would make for a nice town commuter... racing from traffic light to traffic light :D hahahaha

It's as street legal as I'm law-abiding.
Check the switch gear - shift, data aquisition etc.

BTW when a UK test reports sub 10 sec quarters on a stock ZX14 I'll believe it.
I've seen too many US claims of fantastic times that you can't reproduce.

Damn thats a sexy looking bike. I never thought Id say that about a HD. Nice attention to detail for a track bike :2thumbsup

By hokey that would be one loud bike, just look at the "exhaust system"

Nice looker for a hog, I'd hit it.

Yep. Carbon fibre jobbies. They're not fitted in case some fumble-foot steps on them.

Until it hits a bottle in the road, veers, hits the 12 year old previous owner of the bottle who was coma'd in the gutter, and ends up crashing into a dx corolla that has already crashed while trying to drift round the corner onto moorhouse :-)

Another useless post!

When I read the title "Screaming Eagle VRod Destroyer " I was expecting pictures of some yank in an SUV running over a Screaming Eagle VRod.

I'm bitterly disappointed and demand a refund and counselling.

Cheers

ps - interesting bike

Yeah, sure. Just whack another couple of kilograms worth of steel on there when it isn't necessary.

Lots of weight on the rear + skinny wee front tyre + massive square rear tyre = screamin' eagle thingo.

motor is too heavy for a buell which is why they are based around a sportster engine

i think itd be awesome if buell got involved with aprilia or as some said ducati, now there would be some awesome bikes. but the whole "pure american" image would go down the plug hole

The Vrod engine is too big for the Buell, not too heavy.
