Guess they need to find out how many cars on average blah blah are cloggind up our roads blah blah, cause motorbikes is not a problem, most of the time, this one time when i was having a lie down in the middle of the road, that held the traffic up for a fair while. Bout time i got some of me own back on the bastards.

YEAH!!! WTF??? :ar15: Obviously motorcycles arent a legitamate [sp] form of transport & as such dont need to figure in any form of stats [other, somewhat convieniently, than the road toll !!??] & so dont need bike parks in the city centre, provide nil benefit to our soaring traffic congestion, parking & pollution problems & are a waste of garage space in general!!!!!

I'm quite happy for the Government to know as little as possible about me,my possesions and what I do with them - tick boxes...fine by me.

Yep it's a bit strange isn't it. You can travel to work by motorcycle, but you can't record the fact that you own one (or more).

Then again you can't be a New Zealander unless you tick other.

I included two bikes, and asked why they were excluded.
Who is writing to Statistics NZ querying this question? Or is it all too hard?

Yeah - I found that stupid too. Clearly the Dept of Stats clowns lump motorbikes into the same category as your 10 speed rather than as a "vehicle". Morons

Well, after getting my census forms, I think you're all moaning about nothing.

That question is on the dwelling form, refering to basically how many large vehicles do you keep in the vicinity of your house.

The question that pertains to traffic and roading issues is the one on your individual form, about how you got to work.

Harden up.

In a previous post this was raised. I had called Stats NZ and they said that no m/c groups had put in submissions when asked for prior to this census to be included...we will have to do that for the next census as a group..maybe BRONZ, HOG, Ulysses, KB etc can co-ordinate this closer to the time.

3 cars and a bike...

a daily driven blue mazda
a 1974 fiat 128 sports coupe - ongoing project
a mitsi VR4 - another ongoing project...

and the bike. which after owning for 2 weeks is making me seriously re-consider trying to make the car go faster

OK, So how many motorcycle groups did Stats NZ ask for submissions from? I am a member of two motorcycling groups, and as far as I am aware neither were asked for submissions. Is anyone else here aware of any motorcycle groups being asked to make submissions?

If motorcyclist don't know that Stats NZ is open for submissions then its hardly suprising that none were received.
