Yeah mate seriously thinking about it... would've grabbed it but took one for a test ride today and the handling just didn't feel that much better than the 1000.

It didn't have the same small, light feeling that the '98 had. Admittedly the suspension settings felt abit soft, and that OE rear tyre leaves abit to be desired, found it's limits pretty easy.

Power is great, it'll still wheelie in second gear at 120k's under power. Does take abit more effort and careful timing compared to the 1000.

Although it felt like I was going faster, I think that's just cause you're working the engine harder. When I glanced at the speedo I was carrying similar corner speed to the 1000. That said, the 750 would be great between Waihi and Whangamata.

Still, a beautiful bike to ride and although it didn't 'blow me away with it's sublime handling' as I had hoped, it's still a more 'involving' bike than the 1000. And at $11000 this is a fucken steal! Argh!!! decisions.... this is so tempting...

What to do?

I bet ya a million dollars you didn't find its limit or any where near it dude... I've ridin a bike like yours [test rode]and own the said 750k5... the 750 is in a league way above the thou for handling...but the power difference is very very large...750 is closer to the 600 here...

I'll make a bet with ya though....I beat ya $200 you would be faster around taupo on the 750 than your thou? u up for it?

and whats more you'll find it easyier to ride fast too....

Read it again Poos, I didn't say I found the limits of the bike, I was talking about the tyres.

As I said, I think the suspension setup let it down alot, and I forgot to mention that the rear tyre was very squared off which wouldn't have helped. I would love to have a blat on a well setup 750 on the track (hey wait on, you've got one of those:blip: ) and have my mind changed as I was disappointed when it didn't deliver what I expected. I was honestly ready to hand over the cash for this one if the test ride went well.

I'ld love to swap bike's for a few laps next time we meet up at a trackday, and if a $200 bet is what it'll cost me than so be it... Can we do it at Puke too?

See you at Taupo.:2thumbsup

I'm doing my bit to help get frosty more numbers for the track day.....but wasn't that obvious....

If I could confirm [not sure if I can make it] that I could go to dragwars/stunt day I'ld be doing the same sorta trash talkin to get people there to... but in senseis case....I'll like to hav a go round a track with him....
