No I wouldn't...

I used to work with a dude that would just walk up to hot chicks in bars and say, Hi, You wanna f#$k? (we would all splutter in our beer from embarrasment)

I gotta say, while it didn't hurt that he was a bit of a good lookin' swarthy skinned rascal in a black leather trench coat... It worked amazingly well...

Couldn't believe the number of replies that went "Yeah. aroight then luv'"

At the moment I am working on a road bike, wrapping all the fenders and guards red and putting sponsor graphics onto it. Sometimes it is best to wrap the guards then to paint them as you can remove it alot easier when it comes time to.

So yes we are very capable of doing bike graphics.

My bike is already pretty graphic...

Whats a little sticker the size of a gas cap gunna cost me? I will need to laquer it into the finish so I'm thinking viny (who ever though of the spelling of that word needs good kick)

I have a basic design that could need a clean up?

Cheers

Would it be plain vinyl or is it a digital print? Depending on how intricate the design is al how long it would take to produce it depends on the cost but say it was just plain text in 1 colour about 80mm diameter you'd be looking at bout $5+gst

As one of this site's resident signwriters of long standing, I was appalled to see this thread. Amongst other things, KB is a place for bikers to give/receive info. It is not, and has never been, a place for out and out advertising. Yes, I have put my hand up to offer my product/service when asked - that is being helpful. This thread is quite the opposite. I agree with Skyrider (odd, that).
And, MSBOND, your speeling (KBism) skills bode ill for prospective clients.

I have to agree. I'm self-employed too, but I wouldn't dream of posting saying "hi, my name is Faye and here's what I do" - I PAY for my own advertising on appropriate sites - as do other KBers. As MSTRS says, it's one thing to let people know your skills and offer advice or help when asked, it's another thing entirely to post a blatant ad. Someone should remove all the contact details and boot you up the bum. :nono:

OMG
11th May 2006, 04:48
Agree with MSTRS and Beemer. At least post it in the online trading forum and say that you can tart up our bikes so it at least looks like it is biking related rather than just an ad. And if you are going to advertise your business, pay some money to Spankme, he's the one bearing the cost of your advertising.

Have seen others use this site to advertise their products. Most of them I know "donate" ta Spank on a regular bases, and are genuine KB'ers that ride and post shit normal. Is there not a thread section for "Bike Business" and don't they have to use a special user name showing them as a business?

Hmm,I didn't see it as a blatant add - just a ''Hey,I've just started a business and I'm prepard to apply it to bikes for you'' Bright eyed and bushy tailed, she's out in business on her own and proud of it.I'd like some graphics done on a tank soon,so will keep her in mind.

I could advertise my business here too - but I've seen the level of back stabbing and moaning that goes on...I'd rather not.

But you sort of do. Anyone reading your posts will sooner or later realise that you own/run a vehicle workshop. That's fine - you're not touting for business, and if the reader(s) are interested in your service they can track you down etc. This thread is saying (in your terms) - I'm a new garage, I'm located at 123 Smith St, Ph 123 456. I'll do all your repair work and cheaper than those pricks down the road. (oh and Spank, there's nothing in it for you either).
See the difference?

Hi there,

One of you guys asked for pics.
This bike was originally blue and pearl but I have wrapped it in red vinyl then layed the marlboro decals ontop, also designed the numbers on the rear. So yeh, this is what my hands are capable of.

Im in the process of putting some graphics on the front now.

Cheers

"Additional generic cop compliment!"

I don't see the beef. As a biking community, there's a bit of interest in what she does. Making bikes sex0rific.

If she were to come here, and put the word out about her flower-arranging business, then by all means, give her the ol' electronic What For. Cause, you know, the internet is Serious Business and all.

http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Image:Internet_business.jpg

But you're all such a bunch of Internet Tough Guys. Just make up some shit about hosting costs or something. Anything to gloss over your natural reaction to a competing business.

There may be interest in her work but there is a set procedure for business' to advertise on KB. She should be doing the same as Colemans etc.

Bullshit. I don't need KB to further my business. I'll admit I've made the odd decal for members but they asked the question who/where & I put my hand up. I do not think KB is the pace for touting commercialism of this nature. If there was an arrangement with SpankMe towards site costs then I'd say perhaps. But still, do we really want a site full of adverts in whatever form??? Esp. from people with not much in the way of bike interest, and who are obviously here ONLY to try and make money.

Oh, of course. I guess I'm just the only one here without the remarkable ability to second-guess the exact reasons why everybody is here on this fine forum.

Who knows. In the fullness of time, will she become an actual contributing member? Will Iraq descend into civil war? Will anybody realise I'm just trolling 'cause I'm bored? Do you think my new avatar is hawt? (LOLOL CUSTOM AVATARS FOR $45 + GST!!!!!)

The pics of the bike are great! Looks like you do have much to be proud of. It seems as though some of us believe you ought to sell your goods/services as a business like the other business' do on here.(your name will be in green) I don't know the procedure for this but if you PM Spankme I'm sure he will see you right.
Just out of curiosity...is it possible to get a good high res pic of the wrap around the petrol cap, with the cap off?

Yeh the tank looks empty, i agree with that thinking of putting the honda wing logo on the side of it to break it up, also im going to put a white panel on the front with pinstripes down either side of it with the honda logo ontop in black, so it should look good once its all finished.

Ha Ha signwriters
I formed my opinion when I saw a misspelled sign plastered across the entire rear end of an auckland bus.

You'd think spelling ,or at least dictionary use, would be a requirement, to get the job.

However,they do provide a service.
I wanted some largish retro-reflective numerals (fancy name for numbers) for my letterbox.None of the hardware chains had anything of any use and the ones my rural neighbours had, they had bought from a door to door seller, who wanted $12
for each 50mm character.
So I went to a signwriter who happened to make signs for the police and St Johns. And got 4 100mm characters for $8.
Beats $48

This is something you could advertise

On pixies post,:

Had to go looking for a house out round ruural Aucks and what a pain in the arse to find it! In the Naki every house has a little blue plastic bendy stake with its special number on it in reflective stuff ( its related to the KMs from the start of the road as well) for easy finding by Ambos etc.

Why is this not a nationwide thing? Makes life so much easier and only prob costs a few bucks each when doing thousands.
