No your Quickness,
The Fireblade is featured - But I believe the R1 is still MacKays favourit-est and reigning BOTY.

Fixed the link - I always do that! taaaa

Not for $10.
It used to be value for money - not now.
Bikemart for free? I didn't come down in the last shower.
What is the value of Bikemart?
Nothing to me.
What say others?

Ixion

I quite like Bikemart. And leaving it out would I imagine INCREASE the price of KR. 'Tis advertising that pays for the mag, not cover sales.

The dirt stuff doesn't do to much for me, but then they can't suit everyone. Just don't read the bits y'ain't interested in.

It doesn't matter what say others. What matters is what the publisher says about the advertising revenue.

Bike Mart is free - my guess is KR would still be $10 without it - and still excellent value. I am interested in Road, Dirt and Adventure riding. The latter two will become even more popular as road laws and enforcement change riding culture.

I also personally believe that Bike Mart has much greater value now that is bound in - I look through it nearly every time I flick through the mag now - It was once and away before.

I use the directory in it too - When I need to talk to Kerrie at MSW I look up her ad in BM for the number.

Maybe, but at $6.50 (not so long ago) I bought it, at $10 I scan/read it at the newstand, and only buy it if it has something I want to keep/refer to.

Read "Bike" lately?

Nah - pommie gits - who cares.:nya:

I don't read anything else or look at other mags designs even. I don't even read the other KR contributors very much.
It guarantees I'm not plaigairising - or even sub-consciously voicing someone elses opinion about bikes or product.
Oh the prices I pay...sigh.

I'll buy KR Big Dave so I can sue you for copying my thread title, without paying me royalties for the free promo line. I sort of did you a favour there didn't I, dumping on the other Guy just before your release. Might be a job for me at Telecom marketing.

You shameless hussy, you! Free advertising on KB! Spankme should charge you! Maybe we could all advertise? :doobey: Just a gentle ribbing, BD. Personally I always buy KR anyway, have for longer than I can remember. Not overfussed on the dirt bike part, but then as I've said before, KR is a mag for all bikers, not just road. $10 hurts a bit, but I won't add up how much I spend on bike mags each month, it would probably scare me!

I don't mind Bike Mart being in the mag,it's handy.I would only buy Bike Mart or one of the others if I was buying or selling...with it in the mag I can keep an eye on market prices,so if someone wants to sell me a ''cheapy'',I'll know whether cheap is really cheap,or gives me an idea on what to offer.I also like seeing the unusual crop up.I seldom buy magazines these day,as a teenager I would go in and take every bike mag off the rack, and there were many more on offer back then. There has to be something really special for to buy now - but KR always has something relavent to NZ....not every month....sometimes I skip a period....

$10 is not the issue, value for money is.
AMCN is cheaper now and to be honest has more of interest to me.

i hear you,
My opinion (just that - not supported by any facts) is that it would cost more to set up than we would get in sales.
But we'll talk about it.

Dave, I noticed you rode your Buell down to the Welly adventure ride. Did you ride it during the event? I'd like to know if it is suited for those types of ride, or whether you'd need something a bit more dirt roady like a Ktoom or a Beemer GS.

On the magazine thread, I subscribe, makes life easy peasy.

Nah - used the triumph Scrambler and Veges SXC625 for the adventure ride - the buell would do it - but for the tyres - the scambler's were fine.

The Buell is fine on a made road or track - but that's its limit due to the rubber.

That's Ok I think $10 to support NZ made is money well spent. KR did us all proud with it's track days and gave me a starring spot in the mag once.
