Hey guys

Have recently added a new Yoshi TRS system with a DNA air filter. Do i have to re map me 05 R6?. I have also noticed a mid range speed improvement which is awsome?

Any comments are great, Good or Bad!

Cheers

if ya can, best thing for the bike would be to get a power commander. Have a look on eBay, cheap as chips (sorry kiwi shops, but they are..), then get AMPs to set it up for you on their rolling road, cos they know their stuff. Then you're bike will become a killer machine.

Get someone decent like Shaun Harris to sort out the suspension (if it's not done already) to deal with the power and handling too, and don't forget uprated pads at least!!

As the bug said.

Not sure about the pads and what ever other shit he was talking about (not un usual :p)

You dont realy need to remap but if you have the cash get a power commander

as in brake pads - go faster, you need to stop faster. But then we're talking fast stuff, so you wouldn't understand :bleh:

Get a baseline dyno run done first (about $100), that'll tell you if there's fuel problems to be fixed. Then you can get the PC if you need it.

either thumb thru the yellow pages and phone around locally, or use it as an excuse to ride up the 22 to Auckland and get AMPs to do it

Does any one know if there is SW out there where you can just plug straight into me R6 from me laptop and it overwrites the Factory settings without the need for a PC? Just asking?

the alternative to a power commander would be a race ECU, again, eBay etc. They're expensive too.
But for the ultimate, you can use a race ECU and PC together, and that's mental. But, it'll blow a good grand out ya budget.

But there's no real substitute for the power commander imo. Just save, get one from the states or the UK, fit it yourself and get a map to tie you over from their site, then get a proper dyno run done

Have a read of this thread:

How-to: Richen or lean mixture without a power commander! (http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15407)

It's from the R6 MessageNet forum. It's only 33 pages long and isn't conclusive at all but it's a bit of humour. It talks about changing the mixture via the speedo thing-a-me-bob.
Funny thing is, nobody actually knows what changing the settings actually does :shifty:

I think Road and Sport have a Dyno (they used too), not too sure if they know what they are doing. Never used them.

The DynoJet website has a list somewhere of all shops that run their Dynos and what model Dyno the shops have. You should go to the guys with the latest gear. AMPS in Auckland, or there is a place in Tauranga I think, the name of which escapes me.

Take Lou's impartial advice and book in for a base run at AMPS.
And you will need to book.

Just had the same done to my 05 cbr 1000rr, did a base run before making any changes.

Great advice at least you know where you have come from.

Fitted micron pipe:mega: Power commander pc3 usb,

Did a run with zero map, (ie factory honda setup still) ran reasonably and fueling was useable but still out. Some horsepower and torque gains.

Then used a dynojet premade map for the bike and pipe, better but still not as good as it could be.

Then the real fun begins. Theres a lot more to this mapping and tuning than I ever new, after many roll ons and much sampling a new map was derived, It was a long way different to the premade buyable maps!!

And the gains in torque , hp , and acceleration rock.:ride:

So in short the bolt on kits and premade maps are good but Im extremely pleased with my investment on the dyno to get a custom map.

Has made the bike a lot nicer to ride in my humble opinion.:spudflip:
