#10:1984ish?

1982 This year the big Kat disappeared from quite a few international markets

1983 Saw the original big Kat made available in some markets, including Europe, in a slightly modified MkII version

1984 Big Kats were still available in some European markets, but one rather suspects these were left over stock from previous years

1991 Not wanting to miss out on a good thing, Suzuki released another 200 1100 Kats for 1991

1994 This was the last year for production for the smaller Katana replicas, but later this year would see the remanufactured 1100 Katana obtaining full unlimited production (GSX1100SY), and a place in Suzuki's general line-up which it retained to 2001

2001 After just over 20 years, production of the Katana finally ends in Japan with a limited edition. Only 1100 kats were produced before they dismantled the assembly line

question 1 is FFM wanganui based helmet maker

Yep to #4 being Russ Collins & his company product advert. but was thinking more along the lines of his Drag racing status as a legend.

#2 is SR500 based , but who built the concept bike ?

OAB is on the money in relation to #1: Kiwi Helmets (sporting the Kiwi as an emblem) and manufactured in Switzerland.

Clue for #10 about the Kat: the model was known as the GSX1100SR (SBE in some countries) FINAL EDITION and was a limited run production & total specification of the Original GSX1100SX

Clue for #10 about the Kat: the model was known as the GSX1100SR (SBE in some countries) FINAL EDITION and was a limited run production & total specification of the Original GSX1100SX

They are for the Japanese market only like the GSX-1100SR (1994-1999) and this GSX-1100SY (2000) are both for the Japanese market only. The GSX-1100SY comes in only one colour (called "sonic silver"). Also the wheels and engine are coloured black.

Changes from the GSX-1100SR:

* Braces in the frame near the pivot
* Better front brakes (Nissin 4 pot) 300mm floating discs
* Tubeless tires
* Gold chain
* Special top bridge (upper bracket)
* Serial number engraved on emblem on top bridge
* Bolt on foot rests (that means they are removable)
* Hazard indicators

In case you are not familiar with the GSX-1100SR:

* For the Japanese market
* Silver colour only
* Clocks show only up to 180km/h
* Ignition de-tuned for Japanese regulations (the "limiter" will not allow the bike to achieve more than 180km/h)
* Smaller inner diameter of exhaust pipes
* Smaller air intake passage of airbox
* Electric power assisted clutch
* 19 litre petrol tank because of space taken by the clutch motor
* Max power 96ps

Thats the Model below i was talking about 1994 SR (SBR) and the only changes from the original are the flush mount front indicators & the piggyback reservior rear shocks.

What was left, the concept bike. Who cares? Fug it's ugly!

Endurance erm. Terry Rymer maybe? Heck I dunno.

Talking of Terry, pic 3 Vance & Hines

5. Ahh google

1993 was the best ever season for Phase One. American Doug Toland joined the Team for two races and helped them to fourth place at Anderstorp. This was followed by the Team's greatest achievement, winning the Spa Francorchamps race. This was the first win for a privateer team since 1990 in a Endurance World Championship race.

The Team were crowned joint World Champions at the end of the season, a true reflection on their potential.

The following year Kiwi Robert Holden joined the Team and, with Steve Manley, formed one of the best endurance rider partnerships of the 1990s. The Team's good form continued through 1994 with a third place at Spa, this was topped by second at Bol d'Or.

In 1995 French GP star Bruno Bonhuil joined Holden and Manley to finish 4th at Le Mans and the Team went on to qualify in pole position at the Assen Six Hour race. The Team eventually finished fifth after leading until the throttle cable broke. The second bike suffered a puncture but managed to finish third. At Spa the Team were holding third place until a crash put paid to their chances.

1996 and 1997 saw moderate success for the Team, on a much reduced budget. They struggled with the ageing ZXR750 Kawasakis, but still managed to run in the top ten at each event.

F5dave is half right with the endurance team members, The actual team is Kawasaki France Team. and both riders were poms :blip:

The concept bike was shown at the 1980 Cologne Bike show, it was designed by Porsche based on a Yamaha SR500 for M&M Chocolates.

So far we have:

1) Kiwi Helmets (OAB)
3) Aaron Slight on board a ZXR750 (OAB)
4) SR500 (Eurodave)
5) Terry Rymer & ? (F5Dave) half right who's the other person?
6) Terry Vance from Vance & Hines and Drag racing fame (F5Dave)
8) Loris Caparossi (sAslex)
9) Russ Collins (Eurodave)
10) 1994 (sAslex) though info varies

I knew the concept was Porsche-built. Remember the news release...

Photo 2 is Fast Freddy (who won the 250 AND 500 GP titles in the same season)

The senior KB'er is Ixion.

Terry Rymer rode with Carl Fogarty

And, as an aside, FFM were based in Waihi, not Wanganui - that was Star Helmets.
