Well looking outside right now the weather seems to have cleared up. If this holds, i want to do a run out to kaiaua tomorrow. I was thinking we just name a meet point and time and whoever is keen just meets up and the group heads off.
Who would meet up with a bunch of people for a ride? ( 250's ok, please no newbies who are green to riding. Must beable to handle a reasonable pace.)

Busy in the morning but keen on a ride in the afternoon. Usual meeting points are either BP Chapel Road or Shell Clevedon. Common route is to Kaiaua along the coast, then to SH2, Lyons Rd (towards Hotel Du Vin), then back thru Hunua, Monument Road etc. Just suggestions!!
Hunuas will be really damp though, go through there during my 'oh so stressfull' lunchbreaks at ardmore. They take ages to dry and are bloody slidey when wet.

I am up for it I have owned my bike for 2 days that gives me 5 weeks and 2 days of morotcycle experiance.
Okay well if you don't put down a time early enough Brett I'll just say meet at the Highland park mobil at 1000 on edit: 28/05/06 and leaving at 1030, going out to Kaiaua and we can decide the rest based on road conditions tomorrow.
Sweet.

Yeah! Don't like the green roads, specially when wet! Hope it'll be drier after lunch! Have a good ride!!

Sounds like a plan. So long as the weather is decent I am there, otherwise I MAY have to do a tech assignment.
So there it is, be at Highland Park Mobil for a 10:30 departure anyone who is keen for a ride out the general Kaiaua way tomorrow.

Looked like you guys had a good turnout. Saw you stopped on Whitford Rd on the way back, as we were heading out. Saw a few familiar faces!!
Didn't get rained on too much, but roads almost all wet.... but not on the right side of Monument Road tho!! Think you guys may have had the better weather! Next time!

No pictures on the ride, didn't have my camera with me. Some of the best pictures of the "after-ride" sessions are here: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=346
Was awesome to have a good fast ride again... hadn't been to the edge of the tyre for a little while. Some parts of it were wet - and had the bike slip sideways once, real good. Also had it kick out on me once very fast as well, when overtaking a car, hard on gas, and I hit a puddle or something.
Mostly though, the weather was fantastic, especially when you consider it was raining on and off all day. :ride:
edit: I can get the front wheel of the 7 off the ground.... just, I wasn't exactly expecting it, when trying a fast start for dragging. Boy, that front wheel came up fast and high (Rayza said he found it amusing... I didn't really ). I stuck with fast normal starts after that (no high revs when dumping the clutch...)
