Palmy 10/11th - any ideas?

Hey all,
Just got told that my back tire has failed my warrant, but its still good up on the edges, so I badly want to wear it right out! The weather is looking really good for this weekend.

Current ideas:

- up through pohongana/apiti/back through vinegar hill. From memory its about 260km's

- Masterton area/maybe to welly and meet some of that crowd?

Let me know if your interested and we'll figure something out. I'll be going somewhere regardless.

I'll definately be riding this weekend if the weather behaves so I'd be keen to come meet up somewhere. Though im not to sure that the weather will behave so I am thinking of going out riding this arvo as well... I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I'll be at Manfeild on Saturday. Palmy forecast looks fine with odd shower. What are the odds that's how it'll play out?

Heh I just went for a blat too. Metvuw suggests the whole weekend is looking good, except maybe sunday evening. Fingers/toes/many other body parts.... crossed!

Whats around wellington? I hear that the Rimutakas are well worth it, have yet to try that. Paekak hill was fun last time I did that, but traffic was pretty heavy over there.

Sweet as. If I can find a really interesting back road that bypasses masterton/featherston etc I might do the whole loop to welly and back up the western side.

It was suggested (and executed by several very brave KBers) last weekend, but the weather was shite.

I'm out riding on Saturday regardless, but think Manfield might not be my cuppa tea this week. Any takers?

I'm under orders to vacate the premises on Saturday so my beloved can study. I love her studies.

Anyways, I'm off over the hill in the morning. Intending to pass thru Caltex Rimutaka around 10.30. Anyone wanting to join up for a wander in cowpoos country is more than welcome. The roads are wet & mossy, so I'm like a nana on the corners and a little faster on the straights.

Any Palmy people heading this way... can meet up at Mobil Masterton (by the hospital, SH2 North) around 11.30 - 11.45 and then head south the back ways.

RG100!!!!!!!! I still owe you a pie. Be good to catch up.

P.S.
I knocked off a litte early thisafternoon. Went to Feathers & back. I'd have to say it was bloody choice!! because Lynn of Tawa was in the summit café noshing up. I can now say I've overtaken Lynn of Tawa on one wheel. :yes:

Sorry we missed you - we headed off this morning at 10:30. Also sorry the organisation was a bit hit and miss - I went to welly and back last night with cowboyz and slept in this morning.
