Kia ora KBs. On Friday I was coming back to Wellington along Hutt Road at commuter time, ie, against the rush hour traffic. I was surprised at the number of bikes, and at the number of riders waving. In the space of about 25 minutes I waved at 25-30 bikes. By the time I got to town I was fed up waving, but of course I couldn't not wave - bad manners. Rider cameradr....camourad....friendliness is alive and well! Which of you lot commute out of Wellington in the evening?

I leave Wgtn around 5.40/5.45pm and go out to the Hutt (Kelson). HOWEVER it's in a little red Nissan Sentra with Shoei/Ducati/Arrow/Pirelli/KB stickers on the rear window.....

I don't, but I've noticed the same thing in the weekends. People cruising up the Hutt Valley appear to be a lot more friendly than the ones going up or down the coast.

We must be a friendly lot.

I try to wave to most bikes. Don't seem to get many waves from BMW's or 'bogans' on Harleys.

That's 'cause ya can't keep up with the V-rod

And, if I took me hand off the bars, I'd crash :shit:

Yeah I always try to give a nod to anyone, I don't care if they don't nod or wave back but it's always nice when they do. :Punk:

I can already do one handers.

I'm trying to secure the stunt bike right now.

While we're on the subject and I have your attention, did you ever wheelie the V-Rod? My boss rides one and insists that it wouldn't. I'm dubious and think he's just a big girl's blouse and doesn't want to dent it.

He's not about to let me try, though.

Not wheeliable?

I think he talks plop. The bike pictured is absolutely stock without even Screamin' Rooster pipes. I have come close to wheeliing one but so far unsuccessfull.

Show your boss this.....

i use to commute down those ways but not anymore and it is alot nicer to get a wave back otherwise its like you wasted energy wavin in the first place. The only time i dont wave is when i have noticed the bike due to sun strike generally.

Yup. I wave and nod at anybody riding anything with two wheels and a motor!
