What a nifty gadget.

Yesterday the co-pilot comes into the shed as I'm taking my helmet off and we start talking.
News from home etc and we walk inside. Keys in the ignition - still on - headlight blazing.
6 hours later I think - 'where's my keys?'

Flat as a tack and a big presentation in the morning.

Battery doc to the rescue.

Plug it in, attach the alligator clips, walk away.
Next morning full charge and away we go. Sweet.

I don't use the tbird as much these days - @ 120,000km it's semi retired - I leave the battery doc on it as a conditioner and its ready to go when needed all the time too.

rrp is $99 but I suspect it will pay for itself in longer battery life anyway - not to mention saving my bacon.

Do you know if there's a NZ supplier? Googled it - Can buy online, but prefer to support the retailers here if I can. Wall mount type would definitely be the go.

They are imported by Whites Powersports.

Motomail, Amps and most shops can get them.

Got my one from Supercheap. keeps the GB's battery charged as I havent been able to get out much and as I have a buggared right ankle I can't kick start it if needed

Ages ago I bought a little trickle charger from Dick Smiths for $58. It's an automatic charger and can be left connected for weeks at a time, keeping the battery topped up.:yes:

The big advantage of the battery doc is that it will rapid charge too.

Yeah, handy. I've got a 12/24v booster charger though so didn't need that.

Buy them at KMart for about $59 though I have at times bought at Repco when on special, but usually $89.95 there.

Have mounted them on the wall and they come complete with decent long leads and connectors on the battery so you just plug the bike in when you are ready leaving the connectors permanently attached to the battery when you unplug.

The battery doc comes with alligator clips, the loop attachments for long term fittings, a carry pack, a 12v source, and it all packs up neat enough to carry under the seat of my tbird for when I put it in the shed.

I don't know enough about batteries to know whether being 'made for motorcycles' is not just hot air (aren't volts volts?) or not - but the whole set up is 'made for bikes' and I never mind paying a bit more for that concept anyway.

Yeah no worries already have mine, so not buying any more just commented as they are a cheaper alternative. Only thing missing really is the 12 volt ciggy lighter bit and the portability as I have mine screwed to the wall.
