A beautiful sunny afternoon here as well. The temperature moved somewhat north of freezing so I took a short trip out to Manorburn Dam to watch the curling, then up Tucker Hill. Just as well the VStrom isn't a trail bike or I would have missed these scenes.

Gidday Jantar, never ceases to amaze the things we have in our own backyard [country], good pictures and a great day too.

After my incindent on Thursday I thought it was an excellent day to get back on my bike again. Went for a ride round the bays, it was a short ride but a good one. Found that I havent really lost lmy confidence at all and im looking forward to the next fine weekend so that I can go back over the hill.

Good to hear Str8 and no wind today would have given you good encouragement to get back out there. Good onya.

Yeah, I had just got home from a walk around the bay's. There was absolutely no wind, not even much of a breeze so I thought that then was as good a time as any to get back on it. Glad I did!

I headed up Old North road, Peak road and then back down 16 home. About 100kms all up.

I cut it kinda short to save some fuel for the coming weeks commute.

Came back from Coromandel mid-afternoon in magnificent conditions. Not a single bike parked up in Corowhen I left, but saw a few heading north up the coast road. didn't see a single bike on the road when I left Tokoroa at dawn on Sat to head up there. Mind you, it was blowing a gale and pouring down most of the way, but still good fun:yes:

My day consisted of just riding around town, nothing extreme but then I do own a GN250 :scooter:

If some of the people that were in the Hillsbourough area this arvo were KB'ers and you acknowledged me sorry for not returning the favour but keeping the hands on the bars is a priority for me at the moment :innocent:

Was rather impressed also today. Had told my better half I be out for a few hours and I would let her know I ok in an hour or so........we about 3 hours later I realised I had forgotten to ring :gob: So pulled on to a side road to give the missus a ring. Passing biker saw me there swung around to make sure I was ok after seeing my Lemon Plate. Nice to know if I did need some help people would stop :first:

Home til Lunch time and then rode up north via Riverhead and Coatsville roads and then on up to Whangarparoa.
Saw a few riders out there, they all waved back.

A nice ride it was too... just cruising along at my own pace.

Cruised on home via the motorway and Constilation Drive and Upper Harbour Road.

From Taupo; Poihipi rd, Whakamaru, to Tokoroa thru the forest, Old Taupo Rd to Arapuni (Blackbird, you never told us about that little diversion.....awesome!), Kihikihi for gas then back to Wharepapa South for lunch and home via Mangakino and Poihipi again. Saw not one HP, six bikes and about twenty cars in roughly 250ks. Great day, great ride.

Saturday mid morning, straight up state highway 1 north to my home town Horeke on the beautiful Hokianga to my Uncles fiftieth - Auckland to Whangarei, rained buckets all the way, now know my boots hold water quite well (strange, but saw no bikers out there)!! Spent the afternoon in the Horeke pub in bare feet while the boots dried in front of the fire...forgot to put spare shoes in the backpack.

Today made up for the rain yesterday, 300k return in beautiful midwinter sun with the cousi in tow on his 400, cruising down state highway sixteen with the Kaipara glistening blue in the distance getting closer to home - arm got tired waving to all the bikers going north up 16, and didn't see a cop to ping me for doing 109km like last weekend on this road. Ahhhhh bliss

Went around Coro with about 8 other Gixxers. Bloody nice ride and a beautiful day. Unlike previous Coro rides in the past month, I got back home while the sun was still up. Yep, gixxers do it faster. :D

I did a leisurely jaunt the "wrong" way round to Miranda. Passed 1.4 million bikes including what looked to be a pack of gixxers doing about 60kph......

And nice one to the guy who rode past me the other way on one wheel between xxxxx and xxxxxx

T'was a grand day....

Only went through it myself 3 weekends ago for the first time when I went out to Raglan for a ride. Haven't been out that way for 2 years I'm embarrassed to say. I'd forgotten about that lovely swing bridge on the diversion:bye:
