Since I have so many mates in here who I loose touch with when my online acitvity becomes minimal/nil due to lack of time, I do these little updates about my life to let everyone know what I'm up to. So read on if interested, or not.
As of Monday this week which was the 17th of July, 2006 I left my full time job and started Uni! Pretty exciting really, because it's been about 4 years since I was last studying anything.
After going through a few options, I thought something to do with desgine and being creative was definetly where I wanted to head. So I ended up with starting a course in Certificate in Computer Graphic Desgine. This will last for about 6 months. Then I would like to progress on to doing the 4 year degree which starts from about February 2007.
So far, I am very happy with myself. This is the reason why I stopped racing and the reason why I didn't choose an alternative lifestyle to pursue other things in life. I must say that I am pretty happy with my choice so far. I am finally doing what I am really interested in.
I've been in the work force for the past 4 years and I came to the conclusion that I am pretty good with people. I can get by in life comfertably and I can adapt to most situations and conditions quiet well. So finding means to earn a living is fairly simple to me, here in New Zealand. However, we work for most of our lives. I mean if we divide the different proportion of time we spend on the different things. Work will take up a huge chunk for most of us. So I figured, why does work have to feel like work? Why should it just be a job to make money? I don't want just that... I want to enjoy this major part of my life by doing something that I'd really love as a job!
I am not exactly sure where I will be in 5 years time, but if I get to make my own art and make a living out of it. I'll be stoked!
P.S. I've never seen this many hot chix in one place. It's GREAT!! :first:

Well done. Gotta follow your dream (or get one to follow). Too many people get to the end of their lives with regrets over what they 'should have' done, esp if they've ignored their instincts "cos it's safer"

Brave move man, I did the same thing after working for Fletcher Construction for 4 years. I'm about halfway through my Bachelor of Science specialising in Electronics and Computing, but have put it on hold to see if I can get enough money to race supersports in the next year or so.
Best of luck to you. And yeah if you are doing the artsy papers, then you'll be swamped with chicks. Pity I was just doing Maths Physics and Compsci papers, I was one of few white guys (in most classes), and even fewer hot chicks. I might go back in a few years.
Do what you like, but like what you do. 10 points for you.

Design Schools chicks are mental, man.
Plenty of directions to go once you get through the degree, plus the courses are generally interesting and challenging.
Good choice. Have fun.

I've heard the best classes for male/female ratio are nursing and teaching...
Good on ya Sudeep. After spending about 6 years travelling the world as a ski patroller, outdoor education instructor etc and living the lifestyle, I finally realised that i was most happy when doing something that challenged me mentally as well, I went back to school, got a couple of degrees, got a job that pays well and can now enjoy all the activities that I used to do but with a degree of luxury thrown in (i.e. I can afford it).
It's worth the long haul in the end.

Good onya Motoracer! Im thinking about going back to school in 2008 to do a personal training or some kind of excercise therapy course. The thought of going back to school gets me nervous but I reckon it'll be good to look back on my life in 20 odd years and be able to say "yeah I achieved lots in my life". Takes a lot of gut's but I dont think you'll regret it! Good luck!

Good for you MR, the only way to go as far Im concerned. Good education opens doors in my experience, but nothing makes life as enjoyable as doing something you feel passionate about for a job.
Work hard and enjoy it mate.

Great to hear MR.. What uni are you studying at? It is a good thing you didn't choose to study engineering if you are at all concerned at the gender issue. I am regretting not doing a BABE conjoint now, and not just for the scenery.

After four years I am about ready to leave!

hey u!! thats soo awesome that you're doing that, takes a bit to go back once you've been out for a bit. you're gonna love it. have fun :)
Good on yer!
I did the back to school thing a few (14) years ago.
It saw me:
Sell my bike
nearly starve to death (didn't think about where I was going to get money from)
Get stoned (more than once)
Passed my diploma
Get roped in to a degree which involved living in Paris.
Party more than I ever though possible
Become an unofficial paris catacomb guide
Passed my BSc with honours
Fall in love with a swedish girl
move to sweden
Fall out of love with a swedish girl
Run away to the other side of the world...
Not bad for someone sat on the dole with little hope of nothing. was the best move I ever made :-)

First of all, thank you every one for your well wishes. :)

I have been trying to find thoes things for a while now. Tomorrow is the huge clean up in the Garage, so hopefully it'll turn up. Sorry about misplacing them. I kind of forgot I had them after fhinishing the guard.
Bummer none are in your class aye?:nya:
You know me bro! After finding out that I didn't have any hotties in my class, I had a quick word with the tutors and made up some B.S. I switched classes from afternoon to morning. Now I am accompanied by at least 7 hotties! Sweet! :D

Firstly, 99% of chicks ARE mental. It definetly is interesting and challenging for sure and I think I'll love it!
Dont work too hard dude!
Just living off my savings so far dude. Gotta find a job to suit my scheduel soon though!
BTW, I am studying at AUT in town. Since I am on a budget, I think of how I spend every cent, literally! Instead of wasting money on Bus, I am riding my pushbike for 50 mins one way. After about 4 years, I am actually taking lunch with me as well! Van's gotta sell in a week or two, then the FZR... For the R6, I have already stocked up on new tires that'll last me a while because I knew once I became a student, buying good tires was going to be out of the question.

Cheers for the story man. :)
Going to sell FZR soon.
I am already skipping on foods that I used to over spend on.
Not going to get stoned anymore. Been there, done that. It just slows me down.
Passing this course would be wicked.
How did you get that degree and what was it on? Hmmm Paris... Sounds way cool!
PARTY! Yay! :Punk:
What's a catacomb guide?
Honers, wow...
I am going out with yet another Scandanavian girl (Not serious though, not in love). Her pic attached.
I don't have any plans to move to Germany.
